He does a dental plan and so you know what is coming up.

I think he is very knowledgable and nice, but extremely pricey.  I couldn't go forward with the treatment he recommended due to the price.  I think he fluffs up his treatments.

He does all of the work himself, including the cleaning and exam. He's a pretty personable guy. I get a lot of time with him when I go in. The staff is friendly, and they make me feel comfortable. They have recently moved into a nice office.

I developed jaw clenching about 4 years ago after getting some bridgework. Then I recently developed tinnitus (ear ringing) and my research showed that there could be a link with the jaw clenching. My former dentist had recommended a bite guard to prevent the clenching, but I was skeptical that it would prevent clenching although it might be helpful in preventing grinding. My research showed that a newer type of appliance, an NTI, might be more effective, because it actually prevents the back teeth from touching, whereas a regular mouth guard fits between the teeth and one would still be able to clench while asleep. Dr. Gold saw me for a history and consultation (I took in recent x-rays) and at the next appointment a few days later he fitted me with the appliance in about an hour. It was custom shaped for my mouth by him at that appointment and no molds were necessary. It is comfortable and I am sleeping much better. I had no idea how much the teeth clenching was interfereing with my sleep. My tinnitus is also greatly improved. It has not gone away totally yet, but I believe as my jaw muscles relax and my jaw goes back to its original position that it will totally go away. The NTI appliance also cost less than the traditional bite guard. I am very happy with it and will be seeing Dr. Gold for my regular dental treatment from now on.
