Recently had to have Dryer part installed. Upon completion also needed to have vent hose cleaned out. When the dryer was moved out in order to work on the repair it was discovered that there was an uncapped GAS hose left and the hose used was not for a dryer but a stove. Secondly when the tech went under the house in the craw space it was discovered the the vent was so clogged (in fact never been cleaned out) that the hose was actually torn open in several places and lint was collecting on the ground under the house. Now you may be asking what does this have to do with my home inspection (2 years ago). Upon receiving the inspection report that had some small minor items to be addressed, there was NO MENTION OF THE UNCAPPED GAS PIPE BEHIND THE DRYER AND NO MENTION OF THE BROKEN CLOGGED VENT PIPE. The repair person told me that my family was very lucky that a spark had not ignited and the house and my family had not been blown apart along with my neighbors in a GAS EXPLOSION. I have video of this on my IPhone. The repair to the Heat Exchange in my dryer was caused by over heating caused by the vent dryer not venting at all. In conclusion I want to caution anyone needing a Home Inspection done to not go with this company. The Inspector's name was Ryan Moore and his office is out of 2630 Shelburne Place, Mint Hill, NC 28227 Home buyers BEWARE AND HIRE SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEIR DOING. This company was referred by the Real Estate office, I have informed them and sent pics so that they will not refer these people again.
