DENNIS SMITH GUTTERING

UPDATE: I hired a contractor to replace the gutters last week. The
contractor asked me who did the installation, showed me how they
were not properly installed and actually did some water damage to the
side of my house!
Fast forward 2 years...I came home from work one night in mid July and
an entire 12' section of gutter had fallen off of the house. I am a
nurse and I work 12 hour day shifts, so I had to wait until my next day
off to call Dennis. A few days later I was finally able to reach him,
and he told me that it must have been damaged during the ice storm we
had back in March and that I should report the damage as a claim on my
homeowners' insurance. I have lived in this house for over 15 years, and
through all the storms we have had, I've never had an issue with my
gutters. And why a gutter that was damaged during a storm in March,
would not fall off of my house until mid July is a mystery. Honestly, I
felt that he was insulting my intelligence at that point, but I wanted
him to come over and take a look at it. I have been trying to get in
touch with Dennis since then, and he finally called me back last night.
This is now the end of August and he tells me again that the damage must
have happened during the ice storm in March, and that he may be able to
give me an estimate of the COST for him to reattach it sometime in the
future. He told me I must be patient, because he is a month behind and
he is very busy. Just know 2 important facts if you decide to use
Dennis...(1) HE DOES NOT ANSWER HIS OFFICE OR CELL PHONE. You will leave
message after message before you hear back from him. (2) He does not
stand behind his warranty. I have the labor warranty he wrote on the
receipt and I plan to file a complaint with the BBB this week. Beware.

HE WAS VERY PUNCTUAL ABOUT BEING ON TIME. HE DID EXTRA WORK TO MAKE SURE THE GUTTERS WOULD BE SECURE. THEY DID A VERY GOOD JOB OF CLEANING UP AFTERWARDS. HE DID VERY GOOD WORK.
