CURB APPEAL GREENSBORO

This contractor was recommended by a friend to do yard clean up and trimming. The contractor worked for this friend in the morning of the day he worked for us. At noon he came to our house and I described what I wanted done. I asked him how much he charged and he quoted a fee of $600.00 per day for the his services. (I did not get this in writing a big mistake!) He then went to lunch and started to do our yard at 2:00 PM. By 6:00 PM he was finished with all the work. The next morning he came by to be paid and presented me with a bill for $600.00. I explained to him that he quoted me $600.00 for a whole day (8 hours) and told he that he had only worked half a day (4 hours) and that morning he had actually worked for our friend. I asked him to justify the fee and he said the tree work was extra something he never told us before hand and when I asked him how much this was he said it was $150.00 more. I then said if this was $150.00 more and you only worked 4 hours the fee should still only be $450.00 and not $600.00 and it was completely unjustified to have added other charges when these were not included in the estimate and if there were extra charges that these should have been given up front and not after the fact. We sent him a letter requesting that he contact us again about these charges and he never responded. I did pay his fee but I would never use this contactor again nor ever recommend his services even though he is skilled at what he does. This contractor will rip you off in a heart beat.
