"Mrs. [Member Name Removed], Thank you for the delightful review! It was a pleasure meeting you! We hope you will call on us for your painting needs in the future. Sincerely, CertaPro Painters of Greensboro Staff"
It should be noted that the remainder of the paint job was done in June of 2016, while I was gone. My husband surprised me. Somehow they managed the feat of doing a six day job in THREE DAYS before I returned. (I was not out of town for a long time, so it had to be done expeditiously without sacrificing quality.) Two men did the washing and prepping, which was substantial, and then a team of four worked the other two days to complete the job and clean up. We have been collecting compliments since then!
Our house is a sixties' vintage one story which was indistinguishable from the other homes in the neighborhood except for the degree of revolting pumpkin hue that the brick had. The look was consistent with the era, but after having it power washed in hopes of mitigating the orange, we realized that there was only one solution: paint. We knocked on doors, and found a variety of different solutions, but no one had a painted gray house that was to our liking. CertaPro has advertised with our Greensboro Newcomers Club for years, with all the feedback being positive, so we opted to use them.
Our home now is sleek, modern, and singular. Frankly, we have often found that trying to employ help here was difficult. Transplanted from New York and Florida, we are accustomed to punctual workers, clear communication, and fulfillment of contract (including time, materials, cost and directives). Often our expectations were not met. I don't consider myself "La Exigente", just someone who expects the kind of work that I would do.
Bryan, the owner, keeps abreast of the jobs, and has even come to see us in person when we had a concern. When does THAT ever happen? I ascribe to the adage that "You get what you pay for." This is certainly the case. I recommended CertaPro to another Newcomer who subsequently had a porch painted, and her experience was the same. She had some unique existing situation with her windows, which no one seemed to be able to rectify, and CertaPro was able to deliver.
The only reason I rated the communication a 4 was because one rep failed to respond to an inquiry about painting the chimney, which we both had overlooked. Bryan, the owner, quickly stepped in to arrange that, and to inspect the entire job. I am sure the follow up was an oversight, but I thought it fell short of perfect, but it was more a 4.5 out of 5.
Thinking of having your home painted? This is a well managed, reputable company whose work will stand up. I feel that it was a good value.
We haggled a bit over price for a day, then got down to work.
The pressure washer crew arrived on time, and did a good job. The next morning, albeit late, like most painters, the paint crew arrived, and spent most of 6 hours prepping the house by sealing the windows, doing a bit of brush work, covering plants, etc. It then took them about 3 hours to spray, roll over, and touch up the paint. I was very impressed with the work.
There is only one item I must be critical of: Communication between their sales person, Elliot Cole, their "scheduler" Tim Williams, and the customer leaves much room for improvement. I got the feeling it's a transition issue.
We received our two year warranty to cover "touch-ups" or defects in the work.
Bryan will continue to receive my business.
"We very much regret that [member name removed] had a less than satisfactory experience with our company. At the end of her project, when she completed our survey, she wrote "the paint looks amazing, thanks so much." Of course we understand that sometimes issues appear upon closer inspection and we are happy to resolve them. We offered to come out and clean up any and all areas where there may have been paint drops, dust, or anything else, but [member name removed] declined. She did mention to our office manager, on a Thursday, that a screwdriver set was missing. I was out of town and was able to speak with the crew about it Friday evening. We called [member name removed] back Monday morning and let her know that while we could not determine where her $10 screwdriver set had been misplaced (this was not something that we needed for her project and did not use ourselves), we would be sending her a check for $20 to replace it and apologized for the inconvenience. As always, we are still more than willing to resolve and outstanding issues if given the opportunity."
