Carolina Bed Bug Dog

About us

Carolina Bed Bug Dog is all about you, the client! We are working to minimize the impact of the bed bug quandary many are facing by arming businesses with documentation to show they are being proactive in the quest to manage bed bugs, and keep their guests, families and employees safe from the pests. We do this with the keenly trained nose of a scent dog, trained specifically to search for the scent of bed bugs, and locate where they hide. Call us today for K9 assisted Bed Bug Detection if your business is in SC, TN or VA. In NC call All Seasons Pest Control (888) 201-4848, as we work for them in NC! They are a licensed pest control company in NC, and that is what the NCDA requires us to do. Other states we service don't require a pest control license in order to bring a canine into a facility to search for scent of bed bugs. We are a WDDO certified scent team, and Johnsie is a founding member of IBBRA(International Bed Bug Resource Authority). K9 scent detection is eco-friendly, and does not make use of any pesticides. We just use a dog's nose!

Johnsie provided quality mattress encasements and spent a lot of time answering my questions over the phone. Highly recommend.

Johnsie was very professional and obviously knew a great deal about bedbugs and finding them. She brought Abby in the house first. Abby checked everywhere downstairs, including around furniture, on the bed, in the car, and in the garage. She did not alert to anything. I thought that was great, but then Johnsie suggested we check upstairs to be safe. Upon going in the music room, Abby alerted to an item that had been stolen from us, but then returned after sitting in a pawn shop for about a month. I was stunned; we would have never thought to check there! Next, Johnsie brought Sophie inside and the same thing happened. She didn't alert to anything downstairs, but immediately alerted to the bag upstairs. Johnsie recommended that I first bag it up and then remove it from the house. She was confident in the dogs and believed that whatever bugs had made their way downstairs, had been eliminated when I stripped the bed and washed/dried all of the bedding on high. I was so grateful for Johnsie, Abby, and Sophie! It gave me peace of mind knowing we had found the source (that would have been extremely difficult for a person to find!) and gotten it out of the house. The fact that Johnsie uses 2 K9s to verify is very professional and thorough. Neither of the dogs were easily distracted - even with my 3 big dogs outside barking and jumping at the door. I highly recommend Carolina Bedbug Dog

The experience was good from start to finish.  They were available on short notice and showed up on time.  Johnsie explained how the dog was trained and demonstrated how sensitive she was to bedbug smells.  The two of them work quickly and methodically.
After having the service performed and no bedbugs detected, we felt very confident that we did not have bedbugs in the house.

If you suspect bed bugs, by all means call Johnsie McSwain @ Carolina Bed Bug Dog before you call an exterminator. Johnsie has a highly trained and certified sweet 'bed bug dog' named Abby, who performed a thorough inspection of our home, and fortunately didn't find any bed bugs. The best part is that Carolina Bed Bug has no conflict of interest - they are strictly a pest inspection service, not an extermination service to support. Johnsie is kind, considerate and very professional - and is much cheaper than her better known, compromised competition. Call Carolina Bed Bug Dog, I'd highly recommend Johnsie and Abby!
