I am in need of a couch and paid to have it delivered. I was presented a form to sign about he delivery specifications. Ashley furniture has a third party deliver from their warehouse. In the agreement, the delivery service will give you at Lear 48 hours notice to the time block they will deliver. If I need to change the delivery, I have to give a 72 hour notice. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that this doesn't make sense. They give me two days notice but I have to give three days notice or be charged $50. I understand that the deliver service is a partner of Ashley Furniture and it is the "delivery services" policy. However, this is the managers response to me.... He informed me that the delivery service will probably just call the day before. Not even two days notice! Although the deliver service can breech the contract, I cannot. The manager was extremely pompous. According to him, this is how all furniture companies to business. He had no other solution but to tell me to deal with it. My goal is to find another couch and cancel this order. I am strapped for time to find a couch and be able to try it out. The saleslady was low pressure and polite. The male manager was high on testosterone and extremely unhelpful.
