"[Member Name Removed], Thank you for bringing your concerns, and your photos, which are very helpful, to our attention. We sincerely apologize for your negative experience. I've looked at the photos you sent to us, (good photos btw) and I am distressed by what they show; in over 35 years in this business, some of which were spent installing gutters, this is the first time I've seen that type of collateral damage to shingles being caused by a gutter installation. I agree with you that the damage most likely occurred during the removal of your old gutter covers. I understand that we'd already replaced the damaged shingles 3 weeks prior to your posting this negative review; does that mean there is something else that we failed to address, or were you not happy with the shingle repairs? Please let us know so that we can make things 100% right. Greg Flury Founder ABC Roofing & Exteriors, Inc."
"Dear Mr. [Member Name Removed], We sincerely apologize for the poor communication. Your frustration is understandable. We strive to provide the best possible service to our customers, but sometimes we stumble or even fall headlong into the mud, which does NOT a happy customer make. We strongly desire to fix the problem and do whatever we can to gain back your confidence and deliver 100% satisfaction. If you allow us to follow through, you will find that we are very good at what we do. Our efforts to deliver prime results to our customers has earned us the Master Elite certification from GAF, which puts us in the top 2% of contractors in North America. We put the same earnest effort into everything we do, including siding. You feel we have misled you, but you may contact our suppliers to verify the following information: Normally, the lead-time for non-stock siding is usually 2-4 weeks, and sometimes as long as 8-12 weeks. The manufacturer will provide an E.T.A. which is fairly reliable. Until recently, that continued to be true despite the pandemic. If we told you 3 to 4 weeks, that is what our supplier told us. We had no reason to doubt it because we were well into this pandemic with no hiccoughs in that regard. We knew delays would come, just like what happened with shingles in September, but NOT without warning. Shingle manufacturers gave us plenty of notice of upcoming production delays which allowed us to prepare our customers. Siding manufacturers gave us no warning. The delay with the siding you selected is unfortunate, and there is not much that you or I (or Jesus) can do about it, because we are at the mercy of the of the manufacturer. I said “not much”, because there is something that can be done instead of “waiting”: You could pick out some alternate siding & color selections until we find one that is in stock locally. We would start your job within one week of locating said product, even if John and I must do the installation ourselves. Sincerely, Greg Flury President ABC Roofing & Exteriors"
"[member name removed], Thank you very much for you review. Honest feedback like yours is what helps us to become a better company. I can appreciate your comment about subcontractors, and I know many people that feel the same as you do. Even I used to feel the same way. What I've learned over many years in this business is that the quality of the work does not depend on whether a company is using employees or subcontractors to do the work; what really affects the quality of the workmanship is the skill level and integrity of the people doing the work, AND the level of commitment and accountability exercised by the company. At ABC Roofing we are very particular about the people we hire to do the work, whether employee or subcontractor. Whichever method is used, if the workers are not properly vetted, trained, and supervised you will have major problems with the workmanship. The horror stories happen when a company can't afford to hire and train qualified workers, or when a company is too cheap and doesn't want to pay what it takes to hire and hang on to qualified workers; these companies end up hiring a new set of workers for each job, because they use whoever happens to be the cheapest at the time, which results in unproven and unskilled workers being sent to do the work on your house. And whether those workers were hired as employees or subcontractor isn't going to make a bit of a difference. At ABC Roofing we put a lot of effort into selecting who we want to hire, and then we spend even more time training and supervising these new hires until they know exactly how we want things done. We also pay a fair wage so that we don't lose them or have them hired out from under us by one of our competitors. I do apologize for the delay with getting that loose end taken care of. Please feel free to contact me if you have any other concerns. Sincerely, Gregory Flury President, ABC Roofing, Inc."
I had a very bad and upsetting experience with this company and it's owner.
