Excellent. Tim and his crew are honest folks and great to work with. We are using them for another interior job soon.

Let's start off with Mr. McCaslin's business motto - "Building Dreams on Integrity and Quality". The only thing he built our dream into ended up turning into a huge NIGHTMARE. Unfortunately, we found no integrity or quality with our dealings with Tim
After working with Tim on building our dream home, Mr. McCaslin has proved in dividends that he is not a reliable home builder. Out of personal experience, I am going to list some situations that have created short and long term problems.
I am going to begin with the biggest concern that we had to deal with. Three years after building the house, we decided to add a roof and screened in area to our existing deck - which led to the finding that no footers had been placed under any of the four columns under the deck. Subsequently, not only were the building code inspectors involved, but ALSO the city manager of Hickory, NC was included in the informal proceedings to get the situation resolved. An architect had to be called in to figure a solution to the low bearing walls that were NOT supported. The architect determined 2 x 12" beams were to be placed into two (2) load bearing walls in our main living area. Additionally, footers had to be dug and laid under all the posts. This reconstruction process lasted approximately four (4) weeks and involved our whole living area being torn apart - and THEN put back together.
In addition, our experience with Mr. McCaslin provided other stressors to the building of the house. These stressors include:
-Lack of communication (very non-responsive)
-Time Management Issues (expect him to be taking a lot of vacations - around 2 a month)
-Did not follow through on promises he gave his word on
We also have a permanent space (wide enough to fit three quarter coins) in our hardwood floors in our living room. In clear view. Can not be repaired because the crack is on top of the steel beam that lies two and a half feet off the load bearing wall that had to be repaired.
Also, Tim contracted subpar electricians. We have had numerous problems requiring professional repair we have had to seek out ourselves.
In conclusion, before you start dreaming of your dream house built by Tim McCaslin, take step back and review other more credible builders in the area.
