This was a bad experience, but at least I eventually received a refund. After the company made three visits in two weeks to get all the measurements correct, I made a deposit of 50% of the cost to order the custom windows, which were promised to arrive in two weeks. In short, the company never delivered. They never called me, I had to initiate every call. Approximately 6 weeks after the promised delivery date, I finally was able to get an installation date and time on their calendar. After I took the day off from work, the company owner e-mailed me 4 hours after the work was scheduled to begin to say that he was sick. Repeat this process with about 10 other scheduled installation dates when I took off of work to be home. Excuses ranged from "I'm sick," to "we accidentally sold the windows for salvage since they were in the warehouse for so long," to "the weather isn't good for caulking," to "I've got a big job in Raleigh that I need to finish first," to "the weather has delayed me at another job," to "I'm moving offices today," etc. After four month of this, we made an agreement to have the windows delivered to me for the deposit without installation. The excuses continued when the agreed-upon dates arrived. I even offered to pick up the custom-ordered windows from the warehouse or another job site, but "no one was available to help me." Five months, dozens of work days taken off, and lots of phone calls later, I received a cash refund for my deposit. Though the owner was always courteous, it seems that the business exists to receive interest-free loans from unsuspecting customers.
