Joe and his crew arrived on time and went right to work. They put up plastic and put down tarps to keep the mess out of the remainder of my home. The first thing was removing all the old stained popcorn texture. They cut out the damaged sheetrock and replaced that. There was lots of repairs on the ceiling that they repaired. The 2nd day the sanded everything down smooth and painted the primer over the stains and over the old wall paper. It looked great.

He is unlicensed in NC, and I am extremely unhappy with his work. At this point (less than 6 months later) I am finding more problems. I have little to no recourse, because he is unlicensed in North Carolina.

Just read ASAP Drywall comments and I just have
to respond.

First of
all, I paid before the job was done, because it was well underway and the owner
called to say he was having outpatient surgery that morning and he did not want
me to give the check to his crew. I
didn?t ask why, but I thought the job was nearing completion and I really
didn?t see a problem. Not until the
painter that the owner worked with was painting did I start see problems with
the drywall. His crew did come back time
and again to try to fix problems, which also meant that the painter had to come
back too. I do know they tried awfully hard to fix problems, it just was the more they did
the worse my ceiling looked. Finally, I
just got tired, wanted my house back and ceased asking them to fix problems.
·
Yes, I called the PAINTER 6 months later not ASAP, when I had noticed
painted separating from the ceiling in three bedrooms (2 upstairs rooms and one
downstairs room). The downstairs room
was only about a two inch circumference in the middle of the ceiling. The two upstairs rooms had numerous small
spots. The painter (same painter he
works with said that it couldn?t be the paint, that it had to be the
drywall. THOUGHT THIS MIGHT BE ACCURATE
BECAUSE, THEY HAD THE SAME TYPE PROBLEM IN THE LIVING ROOM AT THE VERY
BEGINNING, BUT ON A MUCH LARGER SCALE. ASAP DRY WALL HAD TO COME
BACK REDO AREAS, AND PAINTER HAD TO COMPLETELY REPAINT LIVINGROOM. IN FACT
PAINTER HAD TO PAINT LIVINGROOM MORE THAN TWICE AND KITCHEN
MORE THAN TWICE BECAUSE OF DRYWALL. Now understand this was before
the job was finished.
·
Was expecting the painter to come out and expect
my house when owner of ASAP showed up.
He immediately said he had seen this before and I
had a moisture problem. ?Really, I have
a moisture problem both upstairs and downstairs, but only in very small areas in
the middle of the rooms?? Let me say I
do not have nor have I ever had moisture problems in this house. Owner says that he worked out a repair schedule with my husband. Never happened! Why would he work out a schedule is the problem was caused by moisture.
·
No, he
did not at anytime offer to fix the problem and stated that I was even luckily
that he came back out after 6 mths. Well
it never crossed my mind to inspect every inch of my ceilings. I guess I have been too busy looking at the
big problems that were left behind.
·
At this time I took this opportunity to show the
owner the finished drywall mess that was left behind in my house. He simply told me he didn?t know, he had
never had that problem before. Again not accurate ,
when they were having all these problems, both ASAP owner and his painter
discussed that they were having a similar problem in another house.
·
Finally, this man was never threatened! I told him I knew that I had little recourse;
however, I did have a voice. I guess owner deemed this a personal threat? And that
was only after he refused to fix the drywall that was bubbling (in small, random areas) on the ceiling.
In my first review I tried to say as little as possible and was only prompted 6 months after the job when I noticed the bubbling in the ceiling. It not my intention to hurt anyone's business. ASAP has every right to defend their position. I do believe there was an effort to solve my problems in the beginning, as I mentioned earlier. They just were never fixed. This update is prompted by the ASAP stocking my review up to just an "irrational " woman. Unhappy yes, irrational no, threatening NEVER!
Please get insurance information upfront and please, please request a written
warranty. I didn't do this and how I have to just find value in this as one of those " learning experiences".
By the way I have the same problems I had when I wrote the first review, no better, no worse.

Response from Drywall
"I have been in business here in NC for 18 yrs. My business is legal in NC and yes NC has no license requirements. The customer was happy with her drywall job with no complaints and paid me in full on completion. 6 months later, she called with a complaint at which time I went to her home. I found the problem was moisture damage, totally unrelated to the services I had previously performed. She has a beautiful home and this new problem caused her much stress. I did offer to fix the area at which time she became irate, verbally attacking my person and my business. She was totally irrational and threatening me with her husband. Upon meeting her husband, he was calm and we worked out a repair schedule. This was unsatisfactory to her. Considering all, including the verbal threats to ruin me and her irrational attitude I felt it was in my best interest to leave her home with no more arguments from her. I did a good job as payment confirms."
