It was good quality. They replaced the parts in the tailgate so I could open and close the back of my truck. They were faster with getting the part ready to fix it, than I was able to bring the vehicle back. They were very much on time, or ahead of schedule.

One thing I really appreciated about them is when they called my attention to the recall. It turns out I had actually had an issue where the right front ball joint had broke and the tire  broke out from under me three years ago. And it cost me $2700 to repair the car. They told me I could potentially get reimbursed for it. They got me hooked up with all the numbers and everything with Toyota, since it was under recall for that item that broke. I haven't gotten the check yet, but I was hooked up with Toyota corporate on this issue. It looks like I will be reimbursed for that and I did not anticipate that. That was a pretty positive experience.

They do a good job, it's just expensive. They are a little pushy on maintenance. They do a good job, it's just that they are a little pushy and they're expensive. The maintenance is fair. It's the bigger stuff that's more expensive. The quality of the service is excellent. There's a big emphasis on reminding me at different levels what maintenance work I need to have. From the cashier to the service person, there's a lot of pressure. That's a little bothersome, but they do a good job and we trust them that they'll do the right thing.

No issues found. A parts place suggested weak voltage reg inside alternator.  Toyota place was honest.  If alternator might be expensive repair they said up front.  I already knew that from my knowledge of cars. 
Checked out and all OK. 
I said prepare me a bill.  They refused to charge a  dime!
Nothing fixed yet good bit their time used.
Could have said bad alternator and charged good deal.     No way me know.
I am engineer not car person but i do understand cars far  more than most people from growing up working on them.

On May 8th, 2015, I was driving down the road when several warning lights popped up and my car died.  I had it towed to the dealership.  I called to make sure that it arrived and spoke to Scott.  He said that they would evaluate it on Saturday.  Saturday, Scott called and said that diagnostically everything is checking out fine with my car but that they have to call Toyota tech support on Monday because they can't find the problem.  Diagnostically everything is "fine" but you can't drive the car.  He offered a rental car for $30/day.  On Sunday, I found out there was a ZE3 warranty enhancement on my car which caused what happened to me.  I called and spoke to Scott on Monday and he said, "Your VIN number was not involved and you can't believe everything that you read on the internet."  I called Toyota Customer Care and found out that my VIN was involved.  A few hours later, Scott called back to say that I was right but that the part takes 4 days to get here from California.  He again offered to refer me to Enterprise for $30/day.  I called Toyota and told them to Fed Ex the part ASAP because I have been without a car for days already and I am not going without a car for 7 days.  I missed two days of work because of this problem.  Toyota Customer Care called on Tuesday to say that the part arrived and my vehicle will be completed by the end of the day.  Had I not spent the time to search for the problem; they may have never diagnosed the problem.  Scott point blank lied stating that my VIN number was not involved knowing that it was.  
DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT!  They played around with computers looking for trouble codes on my car when had they just checked the VIN that would see that it was what should be considered a recall.  Poor customer service, poor quality, rude service writers.  I was told that Greg Mcabee, the service manager was off this week and there was no one else that I could talk to.  I purchased my vehicle from this dealership and expected quality work.

  1. When I phoned in for a service time they promptly scheduled me.
  • When I arrived they were ready to do the service and performed the repairs and service without trying to "up-sell" additional and unnecessary parts and prepares.
They performed exactly the services stated as required in the customer maintenance manual log -- no more, no less.
Their invoice clearly stated the work done and the associated cost.

We were directed to use this dealership to take advantage of the National Benefits Programs for veterans. We drove out there and we were supposed to work exclusively with the manager. He quickly handed us off to someone else to work in his stead. The purchase was for my wife but salesman kept talking to me instead of her. He was very polite and got us refreshments and kept going back to talk to his manager and we were allowed to price match with another dealership in the area. He was very polite and we appreciated his running between the two dealerships.
The financing individual was very busy and we had to wait for a couple hours to get in to see him. When we finally got in we were told that the financing rate was actually a little higher than what our bank would give us. However, we were able to apply for the plate and registration at the dealership which saved a trip to the DMV which was great.

Toyota of Gastonia gave us a very reasonable price for the car. We got the best model, a sports model. They worked with us and gave us a lot of extra discounts. We're satisfied with the salesman and the sales manager. It didn't feel like we were under pressure. As far as the price, I feel it was very competitive with anybody else out there. I think they were a little bit lower. We had no issues with them.

Visually the body work was excellent. Mechanical problems arose immediately following the repair (in less than 100 miles) that were not uncovered by adequate testing and inspection when the body work was done. I've had the vehicle back three additional times to attempt to correct leaks or malfunctions in the evaporative control system. The first time the car was returned with a Check Engine Light the body shop did the work themselves rather than having the Toyota certified technicians test and repair the problem. When I picked the vehicle up from the body shop I asked if it had been thoroughly tested and was told that it had and no troubles were found. Despite their claim that the evap system was tested by the service center I later was told by the Service Center Manager that they had not tested it. The second time it was returned there was a decision made to replace the fuel tank and lines above the tank. I was again told that the system was thoroughly tested only to have the same Check Engine Code and Light occur after less than 100 miles. The third time back I was told that there was most likely a hose not attached correctly or a blockage in one of the lines. My interpretation is that they did not find a problem once again but suspect that the repair had been done incorrectly. On the third time the technician demonstrated the testing result to me and was very professional in his explanation. My concern with this shop is: 1.the body shop was not forth coming in explaining what was done, nor were they truthful in explaining who or how the vehicle was tested, 2, the Service Manager at the Service Center was verbally abusive when I asked to understand how the vehicle was tested in the past and what they planned to do to insure the problem was corrected. He acted like I was too stupid to understand the complications of the work to be performed and was trying to second guess their procedures. Compounding the problem is the fact that I live 45 miles from this shop but used them because the vehicle is a Toyota Hybrid and my Insurance Company lists them as a preferred supplier while my local Toyota shop is not. Simply based on the false information I was provided by the body shop and the way I was treated by Greg McAbee, the Service Manager, I would hesitate to recommend this shop to anyone.
