Our experience has always been good, without exception. I can think of only some of the many times they've come through for us over the years, but I'll only tell of one.
One holiday weekend, our freezer (not from Reliable) died. Called Al, and I described to him the symptoms: he told us the compressor must be replaced. - but that would be cost-prohibitive. We should buy a new freezer of the same size.
Does he have one on hand ? Yes, he does, a demo model available at a good discount. THAT DAY, Al himself (not some guy) delivered and installed a perfect new replacement freezer that we still use.
And that time one Thanksgiving morning when we had 22 people in the house and the garbage disposer quit working. One of his guys was there that morning and fixed it,
When Reliable fixes something, it's usually fixed right the first time by an experienced service man. Reliable charges standard rates, which I think are too high. (But then, I think almost everything else is too d*** high so I guess it works out.) They're good, honest people to deal with.
Bottom line: I don't even think about shopping big-box stores for an appliance. I pay a few percent more on the original purchase. Yeah, yeah, but so what? My (our) experience shows the value of buying locally from someone you know who is going to service and support that item. Or any other problems that may go wrong.
The local dealer that sold me the appliance has a stake in the transaction; If I have a problem, I call HIM, not some fool at an 800 number in f****** Egypt who can't speak of understand plain English. That local dealer I buy from has skin in the game. He takes care of getting getting it fixed because it is in his interest to do so. The camel-driver in Egypt, not so much
Yeah... That's the way it is.
Just my 100 cents worth.
Great people. Sometimes hard to find these days.
As they were leaving I pointed out a door switch on the refrigerator for inside light. Clearly switch was broken.
They said they would order me a new one and it was not an expensive part. Turns out only 12 dollars.
I was told to remove power from frig and pry broken switch out with a screw driver (turning power off to frig first).
Saved me a service call where they would have made money.
Great people to deal with in my experience.
Bottom line: Good people you can trust.
