Michael’s team did a fair job with the sod but the irrigation was a mess. The damage to my front yard was significant. I pointed that out to Mike and his response was that it was too expensive to fix. so I held back part of his final payment. He finally returned and threw on some more seed and hay. Then told me that it would work and look great in 3 months. It does not. I’ve also had to hire someone else to fix leaks in the irrigation. Very frustrating. Mike does not do “Picture Perfect” work.
Response from Picture Perfect Landscape & Irrigation
"After reading this review I decided to wait before I responded. Very sad when someone hires you to do a job and doesn't pay as agreed upon. If the irrigation was leaking why didn't I get a call? I would have repaired no problem. I believe the reason I never had a chance to make a repair if one was needed because the homeowner wasn't going to pay. As you can see from my other reviews my work is top notch. If you can't afford to pay the bill at least talk we can work out a payment plan. I sent numerous emails and voicemails for months and never got one response. I wish I could warn other companies before they do work for [Member Name Removed]. As a small business owner its tough when someone stiffs you for the money agreed upon. Look at my other reviews and make your own assumption."

Michael of Picture Perfect Landscaping did an outstanding job for us. He and his crew were on-time, courteous and did quality work. He advised us on final details and plant selection. Michael took care of the little details and stands behind his work. I would hire him again and recommend Picture Perfect Landscaping to others.

It went great! Michael and his team were delayed a little by the snow, but started right away once the ground was dry enough and worked quickly. The wall and stairs look great! The irrigation system is now working correctly, the front yard looks wonderful with the new wall and sod and the fire pit in the backyard is very pretty. All of the work went very smoothly. Michael was very responsive to emails and texts throughout the process and he checked in frequently to make sure we were happy with how the process was going.

Very friendly and professional. Regularly asked for my input if there was a problem between design and actual work. The whole crew were hard workers and did a fantastic job.

I called with a broken sprinkler head and got it fixed the next day. Responsive, prompt, and thorough. He also took time to check for other issues while he was here and made sure everything was working properly and set up correctly. Great service!

This was the first time I used Picture Perfect.  They were prompt, communicative and offered up many suggestions of which we took most of them.  Everything went to plan.  After the job we noticed that some of the stones they put out worked well for a man's step, but when my business partner, a woman walked the stones, she said they were too far apart.  I called them and they promptly went back out and moved the stones closer together and installed a few extra at no charge.  Highly recommend.

I was having some drainage issues and they came and out and put in some concrete and did a hole for the drainage. We have had water problems for the past 15 years and this is the first guy I ever got a hold of and he knew what I was talking about. He came out, inspected, did the work and we have knock on wood not one water problem since. He was very prompt and he did what he said he was going to do.

We moved into a new home with an existing irrigation system that we thought was in good working order.  Turned out, 2 of the existing 5 zones did not work.  The system was installed 10+ years ago and it just so happened that each zone has it's own valve hidden somewhere in the yard which wwe needed and expert to find and fix.
Out of the 15+ landscaping companies I called, only a handful returned my calls, one came out for a day and decided it was going to be too much work but Michael was the only one to quickly work us into his schedule and tackle the issues head on.  The first day out, he accessed the problems and decided he needed to find the valves for the zones not working (which is not an easy task).  He came back in the following weeks, found the valves, replace one solenoid and re-ran a wire to the other.
Throughout the entire process Michael was up front an honest about schedules, prices and never promised anything he could not deliver on.  If/when we ever have irrigation or landscaping issues in the future, we'll be sure to use Picture Perfect Landscape.

I contacted Michael based on a friend's referral and did not regret it for a minute.  Michael was very professional and responsive from the start, throughout the build, and well after if I had follow up questions or concerns.
The project started with a firepit and perhaps a sitting wall to enclose the area based on cost.  In an era of bloated budgets for relatively simple outdoor projects, I was pleasantly surprised to get a very fair bid from Michael.  He worked with me throughout the planning phase to identify the right look and materials for our job.  As the project progressed, I identified other small projects in the yard, and Michael responded each time with a reasonable price and high quality.  It was refreshing to talk to a professional lanscaper that was willing to increase the scope and take on small additional projects without gouging us.  We ended up adding some wooden stairs to add access to a portion of the back yard, a vegetable garden for my wife, pine needles, and he even repaired an existing wooden retaining wall for us.
I cannot recommend Michael enough.  He is an extremely nice guy, I trust him implicitly at my home, and answers my call whenever I need him.  Michael has continued to be responsive and provide quality results at a reasonable price on other projects.
Thanks to Picture Perfect Landscape!

Michael Stewart with Picture Perfect Landscape & Irrigation was extremely professional and prompt in addressing any questions and concerns during quoting, installation and follow up. His quote for work done was very competitive. The quality of work performed by him and his crew was very good.
We did have some problems with a portion of the system that had to be outsourced due to city requirements. Michael immediately owned the problem and resolved it himself. He provided us with additional instructions for securing a credit from the city for the excess water we paid for from the leak.
Since installation of the system, we have contacted Mr. Stewart several times with questions. Whether by phone, email or coming to our home, he is always prompt and thorough in providing us with what is needed.
We would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for irrigation and/or landscaping services.

The craftsmanship is very good.  There was continual communication throughout the project.  Anything I felt was not quite up to my expectations was corrected in a timely manner.  Michael was always open to listening to and implementing my ideas.  His crew was very curtious and well qualified for the tasks assigned.  I would recommend Michael and his team for any irrigation and/or landscaping.

This job was a complete success from start to finish.  From our first appointment, until the job was completed, Michael and his crew were ALWAYS on time. In the event of inclement weather, (which we did experience) Michael was in contact with me via email, to let me know they would be delayed in starting the job.  He came out to my home multiple times with different options of pavers until we found one that we were happy with. He also worked with me to find shrubs that I would be happy with, allowing me to change my mind multiple times.  Anytime there was a change he was up front and honest with any price changes. They arrived at my home at 7:30am, just as stated, to start the job.  The crew worked hard consistently for 3 days to complete to job.  Near the completion of the paving, they paused to consult with me on the area and allowed me to increase thethe area so that we would be happy with the end product.  This meant an extra trip for him to get more pavers, and a longer day of work, In the end, we were very happy with the result.  They placed pine straw around the planted shrubs, put down grass seed anywhere in the yard that had gotten messed up by their machinery and placed straw on top.  All of this (pine straw, grass seed, and straw)was above and beyond what was written on our contract, just their standard.  Very impressive.  Michael walked around with us at length to insure we were happy with the completed work, answered all questions that we had, and urged us to call him if we needed anything fixed.  The work comes with warranties, and we are very satisfied so far.

Michael came to our home to provide an estimate for irrigation.  He showed up for the initial appointment at the exact time he committed. His estimate was (1) of (4) estimates we received. Michael outlined a very detailed plan on what work was to be performed and answered any questions we had about the project. Michael showed up with his crew on the day he committed to start the work. One of the things that was most impressive is that Michael worked along side his crew until the job was done. Michael was very pleasant and respectful to me and my family.  After the work was completed he walked me through the entire system and showed me how it worked. I am also having additional work done to the yard and Michael offered to come back and readjust the system when all the work is completed. The materials used by Michael's company are all top of the line consisting of rain bird sprinkler heads and a digital hunter meter box. I would also like to give some recognition to Michael workers who worked vigorously all day long to ensure a successful system was installed. I would highly recommend Picture Perfect for all your irrigation needs.

It took a while to work out a schedule but once we did they came as agreed. It was right before Christmas so it felt really rushed. The first day was mainly constructing the wall and the second day was filling it in and generally cleaning up.

About a month later I noticed that one side of the wall had started to lean pretty significantly so I called Michael (owner) to come and have a look . When he came out he agreed it was leaning and arranged a time to have his crew come out and fix it.

They did come out but less prepared than I'd hoped. They basically used a large machine and a pole to attempt to push the wall up (read: vertically straight) and wedged small pieces of wood in the spaces created by pushing on the wall created. As a result it does look like SLIGHTLY better, it's still not straight...  never will be. I'm not really worried about the wall falling but do wonder how long it can last. With basic materials like this the differentiation in this market is in craftsmanship and this is what was clearly lacking this time.

As such I feel I got ripped off (for the price I paid). I gave them an overall C because he at least came to fix it, did it for free, and with a smile on his face. If he hadn't responded I would have of course given him an "F". (And conversely an "A" if he'd built it straight from the start!)

I don't mind spending the money on professionals if their work is at that standard. Unfortunately this time for me it wasn't but I do applaud is enthusiasm regarding fixing the wall when I called several weeks later.

This experience is why I bought a membership in Angie's List. I'm so glad I did! My wife says it was a small price to learn an important life lesson and I have to say I agree with her.

I interviewed several landscaping companies for my job and I found Michael to meet all of the qualifications that I had set forth. He was experienced, competitively priced, and I felt comfortable with his previous work.

I find Michael one of the most hard working, honest, and conscientious people that I've ever met. As picky as I was, and as much grief that I gave him at times, he always addressed me very respectfully and with a calm demeanor. He has bent over backwards to make sure that I have been totally satisfied with every facet of this job.

A bad storm hit us at the most critical time of the entire job; the evening that he had my yard prepared for sod installation for the next morning. I was a frantic mess and really showed my tail even to the point of scaring some of his workers away. But he calmly assured me that everything would be OK; called more workers in at his cost and got the sod down. They even laid out one half of a pallet of left over sod in my back yard so that I could install it once I had rented a sod cutter. And let me tell you, that stuff was heavy!

Admittedly, I was skeptical as to how smooth my lawn would be and due to the torrential rain, it is a little bumpy. But in his great effort to provide superior customer service, Michael has offered to top dress my lawn next spring to take care of any unevenness. And the rain wasn't even his fault! That, my friends, is going above and beyond in service.

Since the sod installation, I've had a few minor problems. Some sod needed replacing. An up light was malfunctioning. Each and every time that I have called or texted Micheal, he had been very prompt to return my contact and to take care of the problem immediately. I even cut my drip tube with my hedge trimmer and he came right out and spliced my line at no charge, showed me what to get and showed me how to fix it if I ever did it again in the future!
He and his crews were always on time and when they left for the day, the work site was so cleaned up that you would never know that they had been there!

I would definitely have no qualms whatsoever in having Michael do more work for me in the future. He is a stand up guy. He does more than he says he's going to do. His customer service is unparallelled. You can't go wrong with Picture Perfect Landscape and Irrigation.

Buyer beware: Michael Stewart cannot be trusted. He left my yard in bad condition for three months despite repeated requests to fix it and the fact that I had already paid him for the work. But that's not even the worst of it. Mr. Stewart never installed the fence per our contract. He initially ordered the wrong fencing material but promised to correct his mistake by special ordering the fencing I had requested. He came back to me stating he would have to increase the price he had quoted in our contract, and I reluctantly agreed. Mr. Stewart promised to install the fence on 6/1/09 but never showed up. When I called Mr. Stewart to ask why, he claimed his fencing supplier never processed his/my order. He claimed to have re-placed the order and we agreed to a 6/15/09 installation date. Again, Mr. Stewart did not show up on the scheduled day. When I called him to ask why, he claimed to have had a death in the family and did not know when he would return to Charlotte. I waited a week before calling Mr. Stewart on 6/22/09 to suggest that I pick up the fence and have someone else install it, but Mr. Stewart informed me that he had authorized his supplier to give the fencing to another customer. Keep in mind this was special order fencing that he gave away without my knowledge or consent. Or, more likely, he lied about ever having placed an order in the first place. I tend to believe the latter since we had agreed on the fence manufacturer, Delgard, and I personally spoke to the only four Delgard dealers within a 50 miles radius of Charlotte. None of them had ever heard of Michael Stewart or PPLI. Despite my repeated requests, Mr. Stewart had made it clear that he had no intention of correcting the problems so I contacted the Charlotte Better Business Bureau on 6/26/09 in an attempt to resolve the matter. After three weeks of foot-dragging, Mr. Stewart made a cursory attempt to repair the landscaping on 7/16/09. However, after another three weeks of back-and-forth, Mr. Stewart still had not installed the fence and the BBB Claims Resolution Manager submitted the complaint to arbitration on 8/10/09. Mr. Stewart refused arbitration, which resulted in the BBB giving PPLI a D+ rating that you can verify yourself. After four wasted months of deception, headaches, and stress, I had to have another fencing company install the fence because Mr. Stewart made a mistake and then lied to cover it up. Get a recommendation from a friend or neighbor, check references, check Angie's List, check the Better Business Bureau, and find a landscaper you can trust. Just don't pick Michael Stewart or PPLI. You can't trust him.
