Justin Upton is an unscrupulous individual who will like and mislead. Did not perform the bathroom renovation he was hired to do. Took the deposit and disappeared. After many attempts to get my deposit returned, many lies told by Justin, and empty promises to return the deposit, I realized I had been victim of a scam. Contacted police, filed a small claim in Gaston County, Justin was a no show at court, and I won the judgement. Justin has made no attempt to pay me the judgement. Will Justin be an honest man and make right the wrong he has done? Time will tell.

I placed a online request for a job to demo a house. Justin replied to my add and gave me a price of $2000 to demolish the house without looking at it. Later the same day I called him and asked to make sure that that included hauling off the debris. He said no but for a total of $3900 he could haul it off. Now, who in their right mind gives an estimate for demo and doesn't include hauling off the debris? Who prices a job without looking at it first? Sure I want the house torn down and left on my property...makes perfect sense. Well that is only the beginning. I insist on meeting Justin at the job site to go over the details and see if this cat is for real. He meets me and is on time for the appointment with his child in tow. I pull up and he has been looking around for about 10 minutes. I show him around the property and really feel uneasy because he isn't asking any questions about the job. I try my best to explain exactly what I want done and ask him again how much $. He says well the house is smaller than I thought so I'll do it for $3500.00. I didn't ask for a discount!! The house is 2800 sq ft and we have had 3 other bids from professional demolition companies and excavators from $12,800 to $15k. There is no way he can do this job for $3500.00 with fuel, dump trucks, excavators, dump fees. Its impossible! He seems very cocky and at 27 like he knows everything about everything. I ask him for an insurance certificate which he says he can get. I also ask him to write up the bid which he does and requests $1000 upfront to be paid before he starts. So, thats Sunday. Monday morning he is to have the insurance certificate to me which does not show up. I have already made up my mind there is no way I am using this guy anyway but decided to play along to see if he really produces an insurance certificate. Its now 12:40 so I call Justin. He answers the phone CHU and I say whats up with the insurance. He says don't worry my agent is writing it up and will fax it to you soon. NEVER COMES! Next day, Tuesday I text him. Justin, whats going on? He replies, "can't get a certificate right now for the demo, it will be a couple more days". I ask why? He says, "Because they are wondering why insurance is required to tear down the house". IS THIS GUY FOR REAL??? WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD LET someone come onto their property with excavating equipment and let em tear down a house with out insurance! Oh yes and lets give him a grand upfront as well! Be ware of anything this guys says and check him out. Ask for his insurance certificate and check that out directly with the insurance company as well. I WOULDN'T TRUST THIS GUY TO DEMO A DOG HOUSE!!!!! I am not sure but really feel like it was a scam from the start.
