Under no circumstances would I recommend this service company to anyone, friend or enemy. Failure to return phone calls is unacceptable, even if to say they couldn't solve the problem. The issue went unresolved for three months while we and the warranty company tried to reach ASAP by phone and by email. At that point, the warranty company stepped up to the plate, brought in Sears Appliance Repair, who then proceeded to solve the problem.
Since my washer was on the newer side (3 years old), I was having a difficult time making the decision to repair it or trash it based on cost to fix vs. purchase a new machine. When I bought the machine a few years ago, I paid $1000 because I thought I was buying an outstanding quality machine that would last many, many years. Wow -- how I have learned how outsourcing to China has really changed the quality of new washers and dryers on the market (but that is a different story for a different day)! :)
After comparing all my options, I decided to have it repaired, in part because the motor was still covered under warranty through the manufacturer and I could get a replacement free of charge (Jimmy's diagnosis also included the fact that the original motor was somewhat rusted from water leaking from the broken bearing and seal).
Long story short, I waited for the new motor to be shipped from the manufacturer, and then Jimmy and his technician came back out and installed the new bearing, seal and tub. They were kind enough to install the new motor, too, since they were already out here and didn't charge me extra for that. The machine works great and I am pleased with my decision to repair the machine and see how many more years I will get from it.
I can't overemphasize how nice both Melissa and Jimmy are. Just good people. Honest, competitively priced and simply want to run an good, family owned business. I will be more than happy to give them my appliance repair business in the future over the big companies with a hundred technicians -- ASAP Appliance is all about customer service!
