I was out of town when the heat stopped working in my home.  I contacted my contractor Ed the owner of Homewize (one man company)and he highly recommended I get in touch with his friend that owned a heating and cooling business in the area. Ed had done work around my house many times and up until now, I trusted him. I wanted to know if they were reputable and certified and Ed told me they were.  Ed from Homewize got in contact with the company on my behalf to check the Heating unit. Ed and the HVAC company both went out and checked the unit and stated that an entire motor and fan for the system needed replacing. Ed from Homewize stated the project would cost $1000 at first for changing the entire motor and fan. He said it would take HOURS to repair - He said it was really bad! I stated that the unit is only 8yrs old.  Ed and the HVAC company did not appear to be telling the truth. Something wasn't right ,so I called my neighbor and explained the situation to him and he got the HVAC techs telephone number. I called the service tech Walter back. The HVAC tech confirmed what Ed from Homewize said about what was to be repaired ,then told me that someone from his company would call back but they never did.  I called back again and got his voice mail.  I tried to call my Ed from Homewize again and he stated the the guy is honest and I still told Ed that something was not right.  I told Ed that the unit was under warranty for 10yrs.  Ed said I'm here watching this and it's a huge job.
The part that was changed was a draft inducer motor which was completely different than what was first stated by Ed and the HVAC company-The new part should have cost me $150.00, instead they charged me $510.00. It took 15 minutes to change ( my neighbor watched and said Ed and the tech were not there longer then 15 minutes) and  I was charged $900.00 total.  I told Ed I wanted the old part, he said he forgot and he couldn't get it back- he said he doesn't' know anything about warranty issues, but yet he is "supposed to have" built houses for years.  Ed wanted me to pay this HVAC company WITHOUT getting an invoice.  The HVAC company's invoice amount changed twice when I asked for a breakdown of charges. What usually happens with Homewize is I would pay him for his services separate and then pay the specialty contractor.  Ed knows this, but it appears Ed wanted to double dip. When I recieved the breakdown Ed was getting $100.00 from the HVAC company. Then charge me for his "services" from his friends at this crooked HVAC company. In my book that's a double dip and extremely unprofessional.  No wonder Ed and the HVAC company wanted me to pay without an invoice.  I did send Ed a $100.00 check and he did not hesitate to cash it.

Ed is one of the most honest individuals I have ever had the privileged to meet. He worked diligently to complete the work and always communicated clearly the needs, the options and the costs.
He is selfless in his recommendations and keeps his promises. A rare find!

Mr. Ed Anderson and his company made a big renovation go very smoothly. I was not feeling well during this time and they all seemed to try very hard to make things easier for me and they certainly did this. The job results exceeded my expectations in so many ways. They were there when they needed to be and worked long hours to finish as soon as they could. Again, they also spent a lot of time cleaning up after their work and disposed of all trash. This is a great all around contractor and company

Ed did repairs at my house a few times.  However,This last incident he will no longer do any work at my home. Ed gets greedy and will take advantage if no one is watching him.  If he refers you to one of his friends guard your wallet!
