This is the first time we have recommended anyone. Our garage door has always made a lot of noise but we lived with it. However, this week, it took several times to close the door as it kept opening. We checked the safety light and it was fine. However, the chain had become very loose. We had the Garage Door, LLC, man come out. It was a $75 service call but he checked everything and fixed the chain and the problem. He also did a tune-up and found that that safety light beam at the bottom was not lit anymore the way it should be and the bearings on the motor were starting to go. However, he said as long as they were working not to replace them! Apparently, when the motor goes, the whole unit needs to be replaced but that would only be $300. He also said the attachment to the garage door was put in wrong giving us so much noise, and drilled a new hole and changed it. The garage door is now much quieter and opening and closing perfectly. Our total bill was just the service charge of $75! Anyway, it's Garage Door, LLC, and I found it on Angie's List where it was A rated. Contact info if you have any problems is:

"This problem was not brought to the attention of the company, and had it been, it would have been investigated and resolved at no charge. Although the door and system is engineered and installed properly, any time you are dealing with cold coiled steel, it may be faulty and fail due to mfg flaw. A properly manufactured spring should last a min. of 8-12 years with proper maintenance, and had the company been informed, this would have been corrected. The spring that was installed with the door is the one from the mfg, and would have been proper for that door."
