Kimi's Carpets Plus was great! They stood by their product and their work, ultimately providing us a wonderful carpet (despite a materials-related setback that wasn't their fault). When we needed carpet in our bedroom & closets, we went to their showroom & selected carpet that seemed perfect for us, but when it was installed, it turned out that this new carpet style from Shaw hadn't been completely tested out. It didn't "seam up" properly, i.e., no matter what the installers tried, they couldn't get rid of a visible seam across the length of the room. The carpet came in a 12-foot roll and the room was wider than 12 feet, so the carpet had to have a seam, which is normally completely invisible. This new carpet style, though, had loop pile so close together and with a distinct enough diagonal pattern that matching the seam was impossible. Cutting the edge close enough to match the diagonal pattern meant not leaving enough backing to hold the loop in, so it would pull out. Apparently Shaw didn't test out installation well in the design & manufacture of that carpet style. When Kimi's operations manager was the final installation, he immediately agreed that the seam was too visible and agreed to replace the carpet. We selected another style -- one that the installers assured us would "seam up"! -- and Kimi's came and installed it with no problem. It was apparently covered by Shaw's materials warranty and also Kimi's installation warranty. The installers were friendly and professional; they did a fine job (both times, aside from the materials problem). We'd happily use Kimi's again and we recommend them.

TLDR; This company overpromises and underdelivers, accepting payment for work they’re not able to complete. The owner is rude, unprofessional, and has a temper with both his employees and customers. The project was delayed at the last minute by two weeks. They refuse to admit their mistakes, and even tried to trick us into paying for the work they're unable to complete. Read their bad reviews to find out how they deal with things when something goes wrong. Don’t make the same mistake as us by hiring this company. We contracted with this company to remove all the carpet in the house, and to replace it with LVP. It started off poorly, as they called us the day before they were to start, and said that the materials hasn’t arrived yet, and that their starting date would be delayed by two weeks. This put us in a bit of a situation and also cost us money, as we’d blocked off our Airbnb rooms already for those dates, moved furniture and things around, and had scheduled our vacation around the dates they’d originally given us. This also meant that they’d be installing it right before Christmas, when we had out of town guests staying with us causing further disruption. We let it go without saying anything, and just did what we could to work around their new schedule, nearly two weeks later. The problem isn’t so much that the materials weren’t delivered on time (did someone forget to order them?) but rather that they didn’t bother telling us until right before they were originally to start, instead of as soon as they learned the materials wouldn’t arrive in time. During the 5 days of installation, the owner was constantly berating and yelling at his employees, which made things a bit uncomfortable in the house for our family and visitors. It was only after we’d paid the deposit and they’d done most of the work that the owner said he wasn’t able to do part of it. They insisted that they weren’t able to do a raised platform in the theater room that both looks good and is safe. After I said that particular area was specifically discussed when they came out to measure for a quote, and was what was explicitly agreed on both verbally and in the contract, he stormed out of the house and cursed at us. My wife, our visiting houseguests, and I were left standing there in shock at his behavior. Someone from their office called right after he left and said that they weren’t sure whether it could be done, and that when Mike saw it he knew it couldn’t be covered with LVP so that it would be both safe and look good. None of this was mentioned to us from the beginning, or when they accepted the deposit, or when they started the work. In addition, another contractor, who also installs flooring and was there earlier during the project, made numerous remarks about workmanship quality issues in their installation. We had various other problems with aspects of the installation. Since the owner stormed out in a tantrum, I didn’t even have a chance to bring them up. However, it’s easier to just not deal with them, and we’re hiring someone else to fix their work, and complete the part they weren’t able to. What really irks me is that we bought the flooring they recommended. If that flooring wasn’t a good choice for stairs or for the theater room platform, they should have recommended something that was. We accepted their recommendations without hesitation, trusting that they had our best interest in mind. The next day, Kimi tried to insist the work was completed and that we needed to pay the remaining balance right away. I can’t understand how she could possibly insist that we pay for work they aren’t able to complete. It blows my mind that she’d even consider such a thing. I told her that we’d be happy to pay for the work that was completed and for the materials that were used. While eventually she did have an employee send over a new invoice, to date she has neither acknowledged nor apologized for their mistakes, stating that the work was done during the agreed timeframe (it wasn’t), that it was complete (it wasn’t), and that her husband cursed at me in my home in front of my wife and our houseguests. Check out their other bad reviews, which are typically very detailed, and you’ll see a common theme. The owners Kimi and Mike nearly always refuse to acknowledge their mistakes, and even go so far as to badmouth their customers.

They are a small, family owned local store in the next town over from us.  At first, I was thinking about doing like laminate again because now they have laminates that are waterproof or water resistant - a little bit different from what they had twenty years ago.  And another product they have that I ended up picking because I really liked the pattern, and it's a newer product, they call it luxury vinyl plank.  So we pulled all the laminate up and it glues down, and it looks like aged barn wood.  It's beautiful and being that it's vinyl, anything that's spills on it, just wipe it up and you're good.  You couldn't stand at a distance and look at this and think this is a vinyl floor, when you compare it to the vinyl from twenty or thirty years ago.  I went in the store, we picked out some samples, they brought some more over here to the house, did the measuring, came back and put it in, and they did a really good job of the installation, so I'm very pleased.  And it was nice to do something like that with a local business, not a big chain store.

Kimi's Carpet installed Armstrong tiles in our kitchen, breakfast nook, hallway, and powder room.  Not only was the estimate a super deal compared to another outfit selling identical flooring, it was very professionally installed with attention to detail such as  centering the tiles in the hallway, perfectly level tiling with even spacing, clean cuts under door moldings, and cleanly grouted.  It has completely renewed and brightened our downstairs.   This is a family run business - friendly, professional, and take pride in doing it right.

They are a really good carpet company.  They came in under budget with regard to the estimate.  Everything was positive and they were really good. Something happened that was not their fault and they fixed it for free.

I contacted Kimi and her husband, Michael for the purchase and installation of laminate flooring.  A meeting to provide an estimate of the work was scheduled very quickly and they were willing to work around my schedule (after 6:00 PM).  They brought several samples and allowed me to keep them to see how I liked them at different times in the day.  I had a very positive feeling about working with them.  I had a coupon from Angie's List.  This was honored and a quote was provided for the different product types.  I made a decision and I was provided a date for installation.  The installation occurred just as scheduled.  Michael and Kimi arrived on time and planned to have the job completed in 2 days.  I came home after the first day and it was great.  There was no mess and I was able to live in my home as normal.  On day two, the job was complete and I was very pleased.  Kimi and Michael made sure I was not inconvenienced in anyway.  I will use them over and over again.

The new floor is beautiful - the salesman was very patient while I took forever to pick out which vinyl I liked, and it looks awesome and feels very nice underfoot. I was very happy with the job that they did, initially, and gave them an excellent review. However, that is no longer my feeling about this.

It was not the cheapest possible install, but it looked good at first. However, after some weeks, it developed large air bubbles and wrinkles. I think this is because the space consists of several small rooms and hallways, with two big pieces of vinyl cut to fit an odd, twisty shape.  Regardless of why, I took their recommendations to install it that way, and it should have worked.  I've tried to get in touch with them to come remedy this, and have managed to get them on the phone or by email briefly a few times, but they have been unable or unwilling to schedule a time to come look at it that works for me, or to follow up on any calls or emails, though they sounded concerned.

It's too bad because the equivalently priced vinyl brands that I saw elsewhere weren't nearly as nice feeling. They were also willing to go and get a style of transition piece that they didn't carry from another store and install them for me as well, which I appreciated - I would have done it and still paid them to install it, but I was glad that they did it.

There was a minor problem with the install in one bathroom - the vinyl stretched more than expected as it settled in and puffed up, so they needed to trim it in the doorway. It took awhile to get our schedules meshed, but they came out and fixed that very nicely, so I'm especially annoyed that it is so impossible to get them to fix the rest. If they do, I'll make some of this review more positive again.

I will not hire them again, and I don't recommend them - their products are nice, and their people seem skilled, but when there's an issue they're difficult to get follow up from.

Well first of all we went with a friend of a fried that worked with Impier Direct.  He came in showed us some samples and we selected a carpet.I should have be suspicious when he gave us an estimate that had one figure on it.  Even though we were having the old carpet removed and some furniture moved.  They showed up with the carpet and we looked at it and it seemed to be of a lesser quality then we ordered so we refused delivery.  Then we went on a wide search and got several quotes from various carpet places.  Kimi's was one of them.
Chris the sales manager came out and showed us several samples and he gave us an itemized quote.  He stressed that they want the  long-term relationship not just this sale which was a bonus in my book.  We evaluated all the different quotes and ended up deciding on a different brand line of carpet that was more reasonable from another company.  I called him to get a revised quote with the same line as two others so we coould do some apples to apples comparisons.  He worked with me to make sure that he was the best price.  We choose them and are very pleased with our purchase.
The installation when well and the employee's installing the carpet(yes they have their own employee's installing their carpet) took their time to do things right.  They even told me where a couple of squeeks were so I could put some screws in to get rid of them.
One other thing that we liked was that they have a lifetime restreeching included in the price.
Overall we are extremely pleased so far and will update this recommendation if needed.
One last tip I would tell you is find a carpet that you like and then get everyone to quote on that one manufacturer and line so you can do a good comparision.

Salesman Chris was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.  Came to the house to measure for estimate. Worked hard to get our business.
Installation was prompt.  Installation crew was extremely professional, good-natured, and careful of our home and its furnishings.  They moved and replaced all appliances, furniture.  New floor is gorgeous.  We are extremely pleased with the results.

Excellent phone manner and quick reply for estimate.  Professionally prepared estimate.  Help with choosing flooring...left with less expensive flooring because of color.  Agreed that flooring would hold up for a certain reasonable time and trim would be cleaned and painted when reinstalled (added new trim in case of breakage).
Had immediate trouble with kitchen floor.  Machine chewed up concrete (which they said was disintegrating...could be), but spread concrete dust everywhere in house and blew fuse which was not found till later.  Asked for them to use a shop vac of some sort to stop the dust from spreading (allergies), received no response.  They dusted it up by hand and it kept spreading.
Capet Plus did offer a cleaning service, but the kitchen furniture and all china was stacked in living room and dining area and there was no room for anyone to clean and it was Fri.  I did most of the cleaning myself over the weekend and I'm a senior.  Very upsetting.  The cleaners came in the following week, but weren't great.

There were many markings on the kitchen floor, swirls, pitting, bumps, etc. Carpet Plus came and took pics, talked to supplier, agreed to replace flooring material.  Installer came again, mentioned that it might possibly look the same with the new flooring.  I really couldn't take any more, so decided not to have them replace it and asked for money back.  We agreed on about half of what I originally paid them.  I felt kind of bad for them, but they really were very sloppy.  My trim shows nails, marks, needs more caulk.  The one installer refused my request to make sure the room strip dividers were lifted and put on top of the linoleum, and it is now coming up at the doorway.
I'm just wondering where the great reviews came from on Angie's List in the first place.

Kimi's Carpet Plus did a great job in stretching the carpet at our house.  It had developed some wrinkles over the years and it now looks as good as new.  The price was good, quality of work excellent, and they were able to schedule the work very quickly.  I'd definitely use them again for future flooring services.

The sales presentation went like clock work. We basically knew what we wanted but not the mfg. After looking and taking the recommendations of the owner we left with samples and the next day it was measured and a selection was made. We made our deposit and the product was ordered and installed on the date promised. They done the job in on day and put all the big items back in place and left the house clean. We were very pleased with everything. It is good to do business with people that do what they promise.

Went to Kimi's Carpet's Plus because of their already great reviews on Angie's List, great decision!  Was looking to replace carpet in one of our son's bedroom with laminate flooring. Stopped by their shop, just to see what they had.  Had already gotten (2) other prices quotes, including Home Depot.  The products at Carpets Plus were the same or better than what we had looked at, at the other stores and their prices were 20% better.  Mike stopped by that day to do a measurement and we had an estimate within an hour of his visit. Once we made the decision to use Carpets Plus and placed the order, they had the flooring and were at our house to install in 2 days.  Showed up when they said
they would, moved all the furniture themselves, cleaned up great afterward.   The whole experience was excellent.  Great product, great people, great price, great experience.  We will definitely use them again!
