Derek arrived on time every day and was polite and respectful. He is a very good thorough and honest worker with very fair and honest rates. Derek gave me a price for the job including labor and materials, it ended up taking longer than he probably expected but he kept to his word with the price. He also did extra work that I asked him to do as he got into the job and gave honest rates when others would have seen it as a opportunity to hike the rates up. I had hunted around several contractors beforehand and Derek came in with the best price but also gave me complete confidence in his skills. I checked out his reviews on Angie's list and spoke extensively to my client about his work who had recommended him to me. He has been doing this for 20 years and I would definitely get him back to do other work and work on the interior of the house which I will have to do soon. Also his clean up was very thorough, I liked dealing directly with the person who was doing the work and not a contractor who was then employing someone to do the work and therefore has higher prices. Why not find someone directly who is great at the work and you can have a clear picture of his rates for the skilled labor and the material costs... Knowing that a contractor isn't increasing the prices because obviously he has to get paid on top of the people he gets to do the actual work
