He is very good. He is very busy and works primarily on referrals because he has been around for a while and is very dependable. One of the problems you have in the Carolinas is that people will make an appointment and then go fishing. It's a log home and somebody has to know what they're doing. That's one of the reasons that I hired him in the first place. Most of these guys that came in did not know. He knew exactly what to do. It's a 2300 square feet home. It's not an easy home to paint because you've got gables and all sorts of different kinds of stuff. You have to go up on an eight pitch roof, which nobody wants to go up on. He was very, very thorough. He went up and did whatever he was supposed to do. We haven't had any issues since the service was provided. in fact, my mother-in-law just had him paint her cabin up here and she was extremely satisfied with his work.

He just went down there special. His wife has a son down there. So it gave them an opportunity to visit her son and they stayed with him and the grand children. He just took out a day to be able to have a paid vacation. He is confident. He knows what he is doing. He is always on time. In other words, he shows up at the same time everyday and leaves at the same time. He's got a schedule and he keeps his schedule. In fact, he was extremely helpful because we had a family emergency and didn't have time to arrange somebody to take care of our three dogs. He actually took care of our dogs while we were gone for a short period of time. He is just a really nice guy.

The provider had been painting different areas of our new house as necessary. As more painting expenses began to accumulate in one to two thousand dollar increments, we began to pay closer to what these guys were actually doing on the job site. We would be billed from the contractor for Murphy's services and often could not tell that his crew had even been there. We felt like the provider and the contractor were trying to cheat us especially after we added up all of the painter's invoices that we had paid for. When we realized that they had billed us over $26K, we cut them off. They hadn't applied a second coat of paint outside and inside the house. Not sure what we got for $26K other than a primer coat and a very small amount of wood staining. There were no apologies or reasonable explanations.

"First and foremost, we do not know who this person is, I have went through ALL my invoices from 2009 and there are none for a [member name removed]. Secondly, WHY did it take over 5 years for this person to write a review. Third, I do not have a crew working for me as he stated in his review. If this person was upset about the work being done why did he not call and ask questions, if he had one of our invoices all phone numbers (home, office, cell and fax) are listed on our invoices and our email address is listed. Another discrepancy to this review is it is stated that "as more painting expenses began to accumulate in one to two thousand dollar increments", we would have given a TOTAL DOLLAR amount for the job, we do not bill by the hour so he would not have been accumulating one to two thousand dollar increments from us!! Also, he stated there were no apologies or explanations, well if you never call and complain about work why would you expect an apology or explanation. As stated, we would have given a total amount for the job, not in increments as this person states!!! If anyone owes an apology it is [member name removed] for writing a review 5 years after the fact and making false accusations against my company!! All my reviews have been straight "A"s so I am not so sure this was not an attempt to tarnish my company's reputation!!!"

Wow. Not sure anybody could be more thorough. Super professional job with an obvious obsession with detail. He answered emails/phone calls immediately, started just when he said he would, kept me fully informed to include sending pictures to me when I was away, kept the site super clean and then just did an outstanding job on the actual painting. I had to wait several months to get into his schedule, but boy am I glad I did. I'd HIGHLY recommend Murphy's for any paint work!

Garry Murphy showed up on time for estimate and his price was the best out of four bids and he was very professional. Garry completed the job on time and as promised, minus some rain delays, in which he kept me informed of. Very professional and knowledgeable! His 30 years of expeience shows with the outstanding work! We were also out of town during the paint job and felt very comfortable in leaving our keys with him to paint the door and the need to open windows as he painted and reglazed them. Very nice and trusting person! Great price as well.

Arrived promptly to give estimate. Was best estimate out of three obtained. Started the job when he said he would. Very neat in appearance and performed neat job, cleaning up each day. Was very dependable.

He is absolutely wonderful painter. He is absolutely the cleanest and most careful person. He put cork between every board on our house. He did the deck. He is not outrageously expensive. He was very reasonable. His name is Garry Murphy. We have a 5000 sq ft house; he did the house and the deck for $7200. I thought it was terrific. He is extremely careful and clean which is important to me. After he painted around the windows he scraped everything he left on the windows off and washed them. He got the windows clean. He put down drop clothes everywhere. He is just really, really neat person. It is important to him to keep thing clean. I thought he was very friendly without being intrusive. He was nice. He got the work done. He was a good guy. He works out of a truck.
