He did an excellent job painting the outside of the house. Would use him again to paint outside of house.
On 10/08/2010 he painted my kitchen cabinets and bathroom walls and he could have done a much better job. He should have removed bumps and patched holes. All he did was paint over everything.

Brandon was always professional and polite.  He painted the exterior of my home, deck, and new soffits.  The body of the house looks nice along with the deck.  However, the new soffits appear to only have one coat of paint as you can easily see all the blemishes in the wood.  There was minimal prep work and caulking was not done.  The upstairs popcorn ceilings were removed and a knock down finish applied which looks nice.  The same was done to the downstairs ceilings and I have a tape strip already falling .  This project began September 2013 and  6 months later the corner of my upstairs bedroom remains mudded and not sanded and not painted.  I am tired of waiting for his return to finish the job.  Bathroom and closet ceilings were not repaired.  Tape remains loose and not painted.  Not all of the trim was painted and if it were, there was no caulking of nail holes or merely one coat of paint applied that looks more like primer. A new hand rail was installed by the carpenter, none of which was sanded.  Oil paint (my request) was applied but it is uncomfortable to run your hand along the top rail.  The carpenter's expense exceeded budget as he discovered rotten wood and had to repair floor joist (not anyone's fault).  The carpentry budget also exceeded expectations as I had them replace 4 windows (not counted in overages) and rotten wood as well.  The carpenter did a nice job but his labor pricing seemed excessive to me.  They did install an IKEA kitchen that arrived in numerous boxes which had to all be put together. This was unexpected and took considerable time.  Brandon and his colleagues were always friendly and polite.  The workman ship and my "turn-key" promise was not what I expected and disappointing.  The initial pricing of the project was within my budget and I expected overages but not $19,000 of overages.  The wood scraps remain in my yard and wood molding I purchased was thrown over the deck railing into the woods.

"I'd like to start by saying just how much we all care for you. I enjoyed your up beat, happy personality so, and want to make everyone I work with happy. Sometimes, folks like yourself purchase properties not realizing just what they're getting into. On the surface, the home seems sound, and then reality sets in. Understand, I am Brandons Painting. Being in the business so long, I'm lucky to know people who are highly qualified to do other trades. One I referred did your carpentry. As the project progressed, it was brought to your attention that many issues were well hidden in this home. Let me clarify once again that you and James (the carpenter) then agreed on what was to be done to remedy these issues. You agreed on hourly rates, material costs, and the like. As no complaints are listed in your review pertaining to structural repairs, I have to wonder why cost overruns are relevant to my review? My cost did not change, and did not include: installing new subfloor, walls, brand new windows, sheathing, siding, new soffits, and fascia, insulation, and hand assembling an IKEA kitchen that came in 98 boxes with hundreds of pieces in it!!!! My bid was to "hang" cabinets. A paint job that should've taken 3 weeks took 3 months, and I left you in good hands as the home was being re-built. I regularly checked in on progress so we could proceed, and went over and above as your elected 'quasi' project manager, which you and I know was very caring on my part, as to try and help you control costs, and have your back. I even went so far as to pay thousands of dollars out of my pocket to workman on the job, as you are a traveling nurse and were absentee often when the men needed money. I trusted you to reimburse me, as you did. The amount of kindness and generosity I showed is the way I live life. I believe in good karma, and being kind and caring to others, and often there is no acknowledgement of my good deeds. This hurts a bit. In all the hustle in this frigid winter, I plumb forgot to finish painting the little drywall patch by your bathroom door. I will be there this week to complete it, and if there is anything else that bothers you, please give me a punch out, and I will gladly attend to anything you feel needs attention. As I hardly ever see you, because of your busy career, none of your other concerns were ever spoken of. I look forward to making everything as you wish it to be. As a quick segway, we will also remove the debris the roofers threw down behind your home. Our debris was hauled off regularly, and I would expect the roofing company you hired to be as attentive. As you see, I go way above, but I am human, and not perfect!"

Brandon Marks is a delight to work with!  He seemed to actually enjoy making improvements to our house (an old farm house that had been partially renovated).  He responded at once to my inquiry and was able to start work when we needed a fast turnaround. The people who worked with/for him were also very cordial and professional.  The work involved painting the inside and outside as well as refinishing the hardwood floors and adding stair and porch railing.  He was very helpful in selecting paint colors and suggesting small improvements that made a big difference, such as framing the crawl space.  His selection of porch railing was completely in character with the house and he took into consideration our ability to still enjoy the view after the railing was installed.  Would definitely recommend him.

Was the only company out of three contacted who came out and gave professional written estimate.  Returned our calls in a very timely manner. Was very punctual and dependable each day that he worked.    Did not leave a mess.  We definitely plan to use this individual again for painting services in the future.

"Thank you so much for your kind words. The work we did was in response to paints that were applied improperly which peeled regularly. I properly primed the surfaces, And applied a premium topcoat. Regardless of what product is used, your surfaces are exposed to very harsh conditions. If any problems arise, you know I'll be there to make you happy, without hesitation. Thanks"
