James Connor owner /operator of JimBobs Tree Service drove up a friends driveway and handed out some blue cards made on a home computer advertising their services. That should have been my first warning with no address or way to locate them except by phone. They came and were nice enough and we went over some downed tree removal and clean up. They quoted a high price. I said I was going to get other quotes. Then they suggested they could do some light trimming that day. I did agree to the light trimming. The weather was rainy that week. They said they would come back and finish the job of trimming and carry away all the cut up branches and limbs in a couple of days. It is October 21, 2013 and they have not come back to finish the job or carry away trimmings. I have called at least 10 times and the majority of those calls are not returned. I believe we have spoken twice in that time. I was told me about three weeks ago he was in the area and would be by and finish. I waited all day and not a call and a no show. I called again today and requested that this work be completed this week. Unfortunately they are not honest. Take the money and run service. Beware! They are not local to Tryon NC. I believe they were from Marion, but not sure of that. He called the day after I posted this October 22, 2013 and said he would have to charge me more to come pick up the 4 piles he had left August 8th 2013. I told him he had already been paid $300.00 for trimming and removal. Then he asked if he could leave the cuttings and limbs in another part of my yard where some trees had fallen. I said "no". I was cleaning that area not adding more to it. I asked if he would come before that Saturday due to a special event I was having at my house. He could not promise that and he had the whole week to stop by before that day. He didn't show and I wasn't surprised. Not a word from him since then. That is the last I have spoken to him. I left a message that Saturday morning of the gathering to request again that he complete the job that day. No response
