CHAMPION HARDWOOD FLOORS

We priced around on the hardwood flooring costs and found Champion to be higher on the install cost but cheaper on the finishing price which made him on par with the others prices plus he said he would include finishing my steps for free. He had done some work for my parents before and did a good job. We also knew him from letting him hunt on our land for free every year, so I gave him the job. He brought the hardwood and set it in the house and about 1 month later after many calls he finally came back to put the hardwood down. We told him to hold of on the finishing until all the heavy foot traffic from the contractors got done to put the finish on the flooring. After the house was done a few months later we told him he could come on anytime he was ready. A month passed and we called him back and he said he had lost the measurements and would have to come back and measure again and would be there that Saturday. He was a no show and didn't even call to say why he didn't come. We called and asked again and he said he would come out that Wednesday. Again No show and no call. At this point we decided to get a price from another guy who charged less for the install but more for the finishing. I had already paid Champion a higher price to put the hardwood down with the agreement that he would bee cheaper on the finishing plus include the steps for free. Essentially we were going to have to pay an extra $1,800 for someone else to finish the floors than what champion priced. So we called champion back a third time and he said he would be there that week. Again no show no call. We made another appointment. Again no show and no call. Obviously he got his money ripping us off on the higher price to put the hardwood down and does not want to come back and finish the hardwood at the cheaper price he quoted us to get the job. I cannot advise using this guy since he never calls you back, never shows up when he tells you he will and will not come back to finish the job. I have never deal with someone this unprofessional in all the dealings I have had with others.
