Description of Work: Genesis Construction of Asheville, NC built our home, 11 Perkins Ct., Arden, NC, in 2005. Following is a list of the problems we have uncovered with their work once we had moved into the house. 1. Leaking windows upstairs and downstairs. These windows were improperly seated. This forced us to calk all exterior windows, at our expense, since this was not satisfactorily done by the builder. 2. Interior doors which do not close properly. 3. An exterior door with gaps showing daylight. 4. No railing on the steps leading down from the back Patio. This is a safety issue. We had to have one put up at our own expense. 5.Plain nails, rather than galvanized nails, used on outside wood. This causes a bleeding through onto the painted wood. 6 Ceiling fan in the master bathroom upstairs fell Down. This was due to improper installation. It could also have been a safety issue if it had hit someone. 7. Floors are uneven and crack. This is due to improper installation. 8. Windows in the sitting room have a wide gap between their upper and lower portions which allow drafts to enter the room. This was caused by improper installation. 9. Soffit vents missing or improperly installed We had to have them installed at our own expense.
