 + 0 moreMr. Frye did a first class job rebuilding and topping off our chimneys including replacing the flashing around them. He came when he said he would and, finished them within the time he said it would take. His work was always kept neat and orderly and his cost was true to his estimate. In addition, we he was able to fix an issue with an iron gate attached to a brick wall. We've had a nice dry and toasty winter and spring thanks to him. He'll be the first and only one we'll call for future masonry work.

 + 1 morehad fireplace cleaned by another company and they pointed out cracked bricks that needed to be replaced and repaired. Estimate was $1,300. Danny looked at fireplace and gave me estimate of $800. Since he had done an excellent job of replacing my sidewalk a few months ago I had him do job. He showed up on day and at time he said he would . He only charged me $500 because he said it did not take as much time as he first thought. WOW. I have been hiring tradesmen for 45 years and this is first time I ever had work done for LESS than estimate. And he did a first class job.

 + 0 moreshowed when he said he would and job took length of time he said. About 50 feet of bad concrete walk and 2 sets of steps were totally replace from ground up. He had some good ideas on how to solve the rainwater runoff problem that caused the sidewalk collapse. Very clean and good looking concrete work. Cleaned up after. Also did some minor repair to slate finish on wall of house. I would recommend him based on reliability, quality of work and about 30 years experience. I have had many contractors do work on my homes over last 40 years and he is the best.

 + -1 moreOutstanding. Professional in every way. Calls when he says he will. Shows up on time and for the quality of work charges a reasonable price. The brick chimney had deteriorated. Courses of brick were removed and rebuilt. His repair work is as if no one been there and that's a positive. That means that the repair was seamless - not obvious in any way. It was as if it was in its original state. Would hire in a heartbeat. Excellent.
Description of Work: Mr. Frye rebuilt chimney, tuck pointed brick chimney and other areas of a retaining wall.

Description of Work: My old fireplace was undergoing a conversion from wood burning to gas logs and the firebox had to be refurbished and built out so that stone tiles would adhere to the surface. The installation took 2 days and I am entirely satisfied with the result. I purchased the tiles and pencil trim along with mastic and colored grout and had them on hand for installation. Frye Masonry provided the needed firebrick and mortar. I will use Frye Masonry when it comes time to repair the chimney cap.

 + 1 moreI needed a chimney restuccoed before we could reroof. Mr Frye showed me that merely restuccoing would result in the same problem, and said the chimney should come down and be rebuilt. I was on a tight timeline, with a roofing job scheduled for two weeks away. Mr. Frye rearranged his schedule to get my chimney work done, came and did the work on time. He and his assistant were clean, polite, and professional.

Description of Work: We have lived in our home for 23 years, and use our fireplace extensively in the fall and winter months. When the firebox bricks began to fall out, we called a competitor (about 2 years ago) to fix the problem. When I walked in the house that evening, I could tell he had done a horrible job. I ended up going to Lowe's and buying cement myself to fix the cracks HE left. (I was NOT an Angie's List member at the time.) As I suspected, his job began falling apart months after the work. It finally began caving in again this past week, and I certainly was not going to call the other guy. This time, I went to Angie's List and found Danny Frye. Danny was the epitome of great service and quality work. He came over within the hour of my call to give an estimate. On the day of the scheduled work, he showed up precisely on time (and called an hour beforehand). He was super careful of our wood floors, and was done with the job 1 1/2 hours sooner than he expected...and deducted that from his estimate; this inspite of the fact he had to essentially dismantle the old job and completely rebuild the back of the firebox -- not just the facade. Moreover, he added a support wall behind it -- the apparent problem all along.
