This sounded like a dream come true, and I was frankly delighted when Mr. Hudson said my yard was a mess and that I should not be alarmed if he sounded like a drill sargent while the crew was here. Unfortunately, Mr. Hudson never came with the crews and I discoved there would be no regular supervision and that work would be done, needed or not. The crew was told to clear away everything and before I knew it, rock liners had been removed from drainage ditches, and piles of stones were piled on bare ground instead of on a concrete pad I use to park my tractor as I had been told would be done. At the least, before stacking stepping stones, chunks of quartz and flagstone on dirt, I could have been asked if there was any other place I wanted the stones temporarily placed. I had a lot of roofing rubber folded in plain sight and easily coud have given them a tarp. The estimate of $4,000. to get everything in shape and running smoothly, while costly, seemed worth it in the hands of an experienced contractor who would closely supervise what was done.
The crew had been told to leave room for mulch on the concrete pad where I park my tractor which was where it was originally suggested extra stepping stones and other materials spread helter skelter around the yard were to be placed. Unfortuanately no one told me of the change in plans. The idea was to clean up everything, mulch and then put things back, away, or disposed of if not needed. No one mentioned taking out all of the flagstone lining the drainage ditches and I am sure that was not the intention. No one told the crew and they assumed a rock was a rock and took them all out, which was a very daunting task and an awful thing to discover had been done. I was told to purchase 20 yards of mulch before the 10 yards of mulch I had sitting in a pile was used which I am certainly happy I hesitated before doing.
It took a lot of work to make sure no permenant damage was done from bare drainage ditches that easily could have collapesed or worse. Just about everything had been weed whacked whether or not it should have been (a rasberry patch, a few bushes in places that might have been unexpected, ground covers, etc...and hedges had been trimmed, not once but twice in the same week. It took two years, but they did grow back almost as nice as they had once been and only a few died.
I was told that the flagstone ditch liners would be put back, but a four man crew at over $20.00 each, is out of my budget to undo then redo things that never needed to be touched in the first place. Mr.Hudson was very reasonable and understanding when I explained that this was simply not a viable service for my needs.
If you have a small property or group of properties that simply need basic maintenance, you should be very happy with the speed of the crews. In addition if thay are only coming once or twice a month there will be no chance of repeating the same tasks too often. If you have problems, lots of land or any special requirements be prepared to supervise very closely and have eyes in the back of your head.

We had a lot of broken tree limbs and dead trees that needed to be removed after the ice storm we had earlier this year. A neighbor had used Jeff's services, and she was very pleased with his work. We called him for an estimate, and he came the same day. The work was completed in one day a couple of weeks later by three workers. They cleaned everything up before leaving, i.e. blowing debris from driveway and front road. Other neighbors are now using his services.
