It went pretty good. They came out and did the job. I haven't had any leaks. They don't bother you for anything, they just do the job and leave.

The estimate went fine and the man that gave it to us was very courteous and professional. He told us the work might take about 2 weeks to start because of other commitments. When we finally called him back about a week later, after we had looked over the other estimates from other contractors, to let him know we wanted them to do the work for us, he informed us that they would not be able to get it started until a month or so later due to other commitments. That was fine with us, we had other things to do. But, he came anyways to set out his company sign on our yard stating that the contract said they could do that for 60 days. Okay, I said, but, no work had started. Anyways, when they finally started it seemed to go smoothly the first day. They came and took down everything and looked it over, and found out that some of our wood underneath had rotten out. He told us it would probably cost "alittle" more to fix that before they could siding on it. I then told him to "let me know how much more" before they did, BUT never heard from him. They went ahead and did the work. Then... everything stopped. For three whole days I didn't hear from them, nobody came, the house was just left with the wood, NO siding, just wood. Waiting to be covered up. Not until I called the office and informed the lady who answered that the house only had the wood out there and it was goting to rain, and if I had any damage inside they would be responsible. Then I received a call from from the man telling me that they have been having a hard time finding the right kind of "brick" to match the one the house already has since it's so old. That about the only thing they could do was to go ahead and put siding on the bottom half where we previously wanted brick. Since it seemed there was no other option, we agreed, but since siding would be cheaper than the brick, my husband talked to them about the price difference, and they told us it would be cheaper. Well, they didn't come until the next day, and they seemed to do it in no time. After they were gone, we figured they (the same guy who gave us the estimate) would come and inspect the work, or talk to us about it, or something, but no, he didn't show up for another two days. We had already seem some things that were wrong. The corners of some of the siding were not calked or closed, or whatever it needs done to look profressional. It looks like they just got it and cut a straight line and just nailed it to the wall, some of the siding, near the front door is crooked and not profressinal looking (which I told him about, and he informed me that it was not their fault because our front wall near the door was crooked). I guess it's okay to lay siding on crooked walls!!! Then, the gutters that were supposed to be cut and fitted around the front porch leak!! And, they still do. After the two days when the man finally showed up he apparently only came to pick up the check for the rest of the balance, but we told him what was wrong and he said he would come the next morning with someone who would fix it. My husband informed him that he would pay him the balance when it was all fixed. The next day, oh yes, they were here very early in the morning, and he had his "handyman" calking every edge and corner that looked like it was just left opened, and even got his ladder and went up to the gutter to do "something" to it. When they finished, he rang the doorbell and advised me that they were finished and that my husband had told him he would have the check ready. I told him my husband said he would give him his check when he inspected it himself and saw that everything was done right, but he didn't like that, he even told me to call him and let him know he was at the house waiting for the check!!! My husband was at his work, he couldn't just get away and come home, but the company man just stood there in the yard and was not leaving!! He made it so obvious that he wanted his money. Well, anyways, they have been paid!!! I wished they would've been as efficient about their work as they were about getting paid!! We always pay our bills, and we didn't like getting treated as if we weren't going to pay just because we wanted to make sure the work was done right. It took them too long to do this job, I don't think they're a very professional company, they don't care how they treat their clients once the contract is drawn and work has started which looks cheaply done, so be careful, be very very careful. If you have to pay alittle more with a reputable company, go there, it's not worth it with this one, the work is not professional enough for the amount they charge. It was supposed to be cheaper for us because they couldn't find the right brick, but, it turned out to be even more expensive because of the "so-called" extra wood work they had to fix when they had to replace some rotten ones. It shouldn't have been that much. But, that's the kind of company they are. The gutter still leaks, we've called them, but what do you think our chances are of getting that fixed??
Description of Work: Install a small front porch-like covering over the front door, plus front siding on the top half of the house only. We also have an enclosed garage that would have brick installed to the bottom half to continue with the look of the house. Plus, they would need to install an elbow connecter to our gutter, since it would need to be cut for the little porch, and continue the gutter that we already had there once the porch was build over the front door.
