Go with Showcase!! Im and service member at Fort Bragg, NC and my house I recently purchased was burned down on Thanksgiving of 2021 due to an electrical issue within the walls. My husband and I didn't know where to begin with the devastation that just occurred to our family.. the very next day we returned to our destroyed house with several restoration companys brochures taped to our front door, but Lynn at Showcase was there to greet us. He gave us the full run down of what Showcase can accomplish for us to put us back in our home in about a 6 month time frame. I honestly didn't believe him, neither did my insurance adjuster. I even asked around about which restoration company would provide me with a the best quality restoration for the fire damage. Everyone said "Go with Showcase, all the other restoration companys you wouldn't want to go near with a 10 ft pole" .. I then hired Showcase through Lynn, had my salvageable personal belongings taken to be cleaned up by David, walked through my insurance policy limits with Matt, and was assigned my project manager Jeremiah. THEY ARE KILLING IT at the job!! My project manager Jeremiah recently went through the reconstruction progress timeline with me step-by-step, date-by-date, and has a estimated "move back in" date of mid April, but we are actually 3 weeks ahead of schedule. No matter how devastating the situation you may be going through is, you can rely on Showcase to give you the quality, understanding, and finished product in a scheduled out timely manner

The demo was great, on 1 sep the mold was removed with drywall, a spray was used to keep mold from coming back. I emailed Zack sep 1, 9, 11 and asked when there would be someone coming out to put up drywall and paint. He emailed me back and said he would contact me when he had someone lined up. A professional would have had that already lined up. The bill is paid in full of 1600.00 but no ceiling. I emailed the showcase Restoration in Wilmington on Sep 12, a couple of hours later I was emailed back and told this would be fixed and someone would contact me Monday. Was contacted Monday and asked at 1000 that morning if I could have a pre construction meeting at 1200 the same day. Good thing my husband was home and he could do it, pp timing thinking people can jump through hoops for them. Anyways it is 13 Sep with drywall off ceiling. I let people in the neighborhood not to hire them. There comeback was yah we had bad experiences with them. Contacted the BBB.

The work they did was ok, in that they got all the water  out. The problem was that the plumber we had engaged to replace our water heater found out that the serviceman from Showcase had failed, in all of his time in our basement, to notice the cause of the leak (had previously been believed to have been something else). Which meant that if said plumber had not noticed the cause of the flooding, leading to our decision to replace the air conditioning system, we would have been in for repeated flooding and blown  water heaters. The plumber laid into the serviceman for his carelessness, and the latter was apologetic enough to indicate that we should not be charged for the work.
All well and good, until we started getting calls several months later demanding the payment (and the latest, another bill sent the day after I paid). They claimed there was no validity to what I had been told, and refused to even offer a courtesy discount. They also claimed it was not their job to notice the cause of floods, just to clean them up. Though the latter might be technically true, it was not our plumber's job to notice a leaky air conditioner either, and yet he cared enough to inform us. It just does not look good, and hope Showcase considers that how you treat your customers is also an important part of getting repeat business.
Response from Showcase Restoration
"Thank you for the opportunity to respond. We were called out to the residence by the Home Owner to pump standing water out of the basement. The technician checked the basement and based on his calculations the job should cost $425.00. The Home Owner approved the estimate and signed our Work Authorization. The water was pumped out and fans set to finalize the drying process. We did notify the Home Owner the leak was still there. The plumber did advise that because the water heater had been submerged under water it would have to be replaced. I do not know who discovered that the AC system was the cause of the leak but it was being worked on as we were removing our equipment. Also let me note that the Home Owner paid the $425.00 invoice."

This company was sent by my insurance provider after my roof was damaged in a recent storm. I assumed since the insurance company used Showcase Restoration that everything would be fine. Two guys showed up with one pack of shingles and were done in 30 minutes. The bill was $500. That seems exorbitant for two people to work for 30 minutes. They also left many nails on the roof. Apparently they do not clean up after themselves either.

Mr.Tony sat us down and went over the financial side of things with us as well as the overall quality and design. They took before and after pictures. We were able to meet at the house during construction and know that we had quality work being done. Our house is truly more beautiful now than it was before thanks to showcase's wonderful team and services.

I was away from home, went a hot water pipe broke in the master bathroom. water damage in bathroom, dressing room , and bedroom.  The plumer recomended Shoecase Restoration,  they came with fans, and dehumidifiers which they placed not only in  that area, but underneath as the wood and insulation was soaked.  Snowcase was here everyday on time, Preston,Ben, Mark, Rick, Josh,Solo And Wayne (Wayne is the owner of the company even came Sat. and Sun. dressed for church to see how the damage was drying.  I told them I was having company on the 16th and they said they would have the job done by the 15th and they did as promised, even tho Solo had worked all day in the heat replacing insulation, he stayed until 8:00 Pm to help lay the carpet and move furniture.  The whole company went above and beyond.  They were all kind, understanding, polite and punctual.  I highly recommend Showcase restoration!!!

The sub-contractors for construction did not show for a week, then sporadically and late on many occasions. The contractor showed up sporadically, removed construction materials that were intended for my home. They refused to credit my account for the materials removed and they refused to give me an accounting of services and materials used. The contractors were also working on a home down my street at the same time thus working there and not on my home. The quality assurance person denied he was working on any home in my area. However at the start he was the one who told me of it.
Response from Showcase Restoration
"The original estimate for this job was $5,143.00. The insurance company paid the claim under the mold portion of the customer’s policy. Our estimate was completed before any work began. Once the work began and the chimney was opened up, we found additional damage down into the base of the chimney. This required the fire box to be removed as well as the mantel. This work was not in our original scope of work and we did not charge any additional monies to complete this work. We also rebuilt a gate for the customer, she purchased the material and we offered the labor at no additional charge. We also purchased a bundle of shingles and repaired missing shingles on her roof at no additional charge. There were several appointments made with the customer that when we arrived on site she was not home. There were times that we did show late on her job, but we did attempt to call her to inform her that we were going to be late. When we order materials for jobs, we typically will order more than is needed in the event more is needed, this saves time and trips back to the building supply store, if we do not use the material then we return it and receive a refund. Our upfront estimate includes material cost, I am sure if the job required more material than we estimated the customer would not agree to pay for the additional material. The job was completed and the customer signed a completion certificate agreeing the job was completed. We gave the customer an upfront itemized estimate that she agreed to pay the full balance once the job was completed. This amount never changed even though we completed additional work. The customer explained that she was on a fixed income and asked why she had to pay the $143.00. She was paid $5,000.00 from her insurance company. We explained that this was the agreed price. She first said she would not pay this but once we mailed her a letter of demand she agreed to pay this in $25/month payments which we agreed to accept. We are sorry repair did not move as it should. But when you run into unforeseen/hidden damages that are more extensive than visual seen, it will slow the process down. We really believed we were helping the customer and surprised to see negative feedback. We hope that the customer will rescind the negative feedback."

They did not do the work appropriately.  Even our insurance company stated they didn’t do the work right.  It resulted in them having to tear up the wood floors in our basement.  They had to pay for it out of their pocket since our insurance company wouldn’t pay for it since they did the work wrong.  They argued with me back and forth on if they were going to pull up all the hardwood or not.  They did remove it all and then they saw how awful the mold was that was trapped underneath.  They did finish the job and they were concerned.  They even followed up with me once the job was complete.   They did also relay the floor with new and prettier hardwood.  They contracted that work out.
Response from Showcase Restoration
"We unfortunately made a mistake at Member's home. Apparently, we did check the moisture readings on top of the floor system, but we did not sufficiently check moisture readings underneath the home on the subfloor. I suspect we would have found that the floor was still wet between the felt paper and the subfloor. This inconvenienced her family and we are sorry about that. We did make all necessary repairs. We did fulfill our warranty and take care of a problem that was missed on the initial inspections. Hopefully, we can earn Member's confidence to be able to help her in the future. Bottom line is that we missed something that we should have not. We are the experts."

Showcase Restoration did a beautiful job of drying out my home after water damage from a leak due to a burst pipe leading to a hotwater heater.  The people who installed the drying equipment were polite, on time and very careful of my furniture, rugs and home generally.  They removed all debris and worked under extreame conditions,  inan attic with an outside temperature of over 95 degrees.  I was pleased with the information provided concerning the process and the time spent to be sure I understood every phase of the clean up.

The entire job was problematic from the very beginning due to false promises and incompetent workers.  DO NOT use this contractor without inspecting some of their work, and talking with prior clients.
Response from Showcase Restoration
"Unfortunately this was not a pleasant experience for Showcase either. We ended up going to court to get the substantial monies due us. We replaced many items that had nothing to do with us, i.e. teak patio furniture, etc. We exhausted all efforts ot bring this relationship to a satisfactory conclussion. Unfortunately, it did not work out that way. We are always happy to provide potienial customers with our references. We do encourage them to inspect our our work. We now even offer a 5 year warranty on all labor completed by Showcase."

My experience with Showcase DKI was overall good. For the most part, the people he brought in to do the work was good. They seem to be responsive to our needs and were able to get our home finished in a timely manner. The insurance took care of the cost of the remodeling, so we do not know the cost of the service they provided. If we have the need, we would consider using this company again.
Response from Showcase Restoration
"(member name removed), thank you so much for you kind words and confidence in Showcase. If we can ever help you in the future please do not hesitate to call. Thank you again, Lynn."
