It went terrible. Started fine. James Norton seemed very nice and personable, even trustworthy but things turned south after the work began. The work was shoddy and we gave him a chance to fix things. If you do hire him do it at your own risk and never ever pay him all that is owed even if he gives you the "i REALLY need the money and I have done a lot already and I am not going to leave you, I would never do that" spiel. After he supposedly finished the first time he acted as if he was going to his truck and disappeared and he wouldn't answer his cell phone. He was recommended by someone who hires him to do some work and they told him in order for them to use him again he'd have to make this job "right". We we understood that he probably spent all the money that was paid and the decorative tile would have to be pulled out and not be useable so we offered (after he was threatened no work) to actually re-buy the decorative tile pieces. And we did, he showed up did a quick job and again today just acted like he was going outside and disappeared and he's gone, no answer to voice mail.
When he first did the job he grouted the actual carpet INTO the seam. We were having new carpet put in and they had to chisel out the carpet from the grout, then a piece of quarter round had to be placed to cover the huge gap. We had pictures of that work but thought since he was going to fix his many many mistakes it would be OK so we are checking emails and if we find them we will post them.
He broke a piece of tile and said "No problem I have one and I'll replace it" well you can see the mismatched tile that was placed and it's at eye level. Over all just a terrible job and he doesn't in any way stand by his work but he talks a good game. We'll be filing lawsuit this week.
