Sam was the technician that came out to perform the action and was highly professional throughout the install. From the time I called to when the request was serviced was one day. The tech (Sam) performed all actions based on my requests/directions and install was conducted efficiently and in a timely manner. Note: I provided the video doorbell and the replacement doorbell transformer.

I am very disappointed in the lack of service provided by this company, despite the positive reviews. We have a circuit that is tripping, they came out and replaced the switch in the breaker box the first time - no issues with that. But it didn’t fix the problem and we were still having the circuit trip. We called again and they said there was no point in coming when the fault isn’t present - so we waited for it to trip again, called immediately when it did and received no response until we followed up on Monday. They were unable to come out until Wednesday because a different job took priority - so we were without lights in the kitchen and garage until then. Then they actually didn’t come out until Thursday, and essentially shrugged their shoulders and said to wait it out until you can determine which light or switch is responsible, or we can install ALL new switches and fixtures. This is an astronomical price just to find a problem. I don’t know a lot about electricity, but we didn’t not feel that MidSouth cared nor were they motivated to help us find the problem. Because of this we are very disappointed and would not recommend them for anything beyond a basic job. UPDATE: We fixed it ourselves. A light bulb had a sensor that got broken (likely during the hurricane which is when the issue started) and exposed the wiring, causing it to trip when water/dust got in there. So to put this plainly - in the two times they came to our house, they didn't even check the outdoor light fixtures to see if the seals had opened or if there were issues with the bulbs. IT WAS A LIGHT BULB. This took simple deductive reasoning and visual observations for my husband, who knows nothing about electricity, to figure out.

Had used them years before. Called and got a general quote, and then when they arrived, it was twice as much. And then when I called the owner to ask how it could have doubled, he just said that if I thought it was too high, I could get other quotes. With the dishwasher guy already there waiting, there wasn't much I could do. And then the guy they sent was a complete beginner, and had to have someone walk him through the job over the phone.

"FACTS: -GAVE CUSTOMER A VERBAL ESTIMATE OVER THE PHONE AND EXPLAINED THAT IT COULD CHANGE ONCE WE HAD EYES ON SITE TO SEE ALL JOB DETAILS WHICH IT DID BUT DID NOT DOUBLE.. -CUSTOMER RESCHEDULED ON US TWICE DUE TO DELAYS IN PROJECT. -THE FIRST TECHNICIAN OUT WAS THEIR TO ACCESS THE INSTALLATION DETAILS ONLY... AND ADVISE SO WE COULD QUOTE BASED ON THE CURRENT CONDITIONS. -MY TECHNICIAN CALL AND SAID THAT THE CUSTOMER WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE OTHER CONTRACTORS ON HER JOB AND HOW THEY WERE RIPPING HER OFF BECAUSE SHE WAS A WOMEN. THEN SHE STARTED ACCUSING US OF DOING THE SAME. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED HER AND ADVISED HER THAT WAS NOT THE CASE AND THAT WE WERE THERE TO PROVIDE A SERVICE AND DO SO WITH THE END RESULT OF A HAPPY CUSTOMER AND IF SHE WAS NOT HAPPY WITH OUR ON SITE ASSESSMENT AND QUOTE THEN WE WOULD PREFER HER LET SOMEONE ELSE DO THE JOB RATHER THAN US AS I COULD SEE HOW THIS ONE WAS MOST LIKELY GOING TO GO, GIVEN HER VERBAL ACCUSATION AND CURRENT STATE OF DISTRESS ON HER REMODEL ATTEMPT. -SHE PLEADED FOR ME TO PLEASE DO THE INSTALL AND RELUCTANTLY DID AT HER REQUEST. -WE THEN PULLED THE INSTALL PERMIT, DISPATCHED OUR INSTALL TECH AND PERFORMED THE INSTALLATION AND INSPECTION WHICH PASSED IN THE FOLLOWING DAYS. -THIS INSTALLATION WAS ON 6-12-19, CUSTOMER LEAVES THIS REVIEW ON 11-20-19. -LAST CONVERSATION WITH CUSTOMER WAS ON 6-12-19 AS DESCRIBED ABOVE."

Excellent. Jason showed up on time, listened to my concerns, corrected my ideas versus what code required, and scheduled a service call for the next week. The guys called 30 minutes before they were due to say they were on the way. I showed them the "projects" and they were in and out in less than three hours (the garage outlets were tricky). The guys were polite, fastidious about making sure everything worked correctly, cleaning up and adjusting the outdoor floods for maximum coverage. Estimate was $310, came in at $307.

Exceptional service and timely. I called about 11 am and they arrived at 1pm. Two quickly diagnosed the problem, corrected the problem then went above and beyond by checking the other outlets in the house to make sure there were no other issues. I highly recommend this team. Two very polite gentlemen arrived promptly and immediately isolated the faulty outlet that was the problem. It is nice to have someone really listen to the problem beforehand. Based on my description of the problem I was having Jason pretty much had it figured out before going into the house. They were in and out so fast they did not waste a second. I was very pleased with the service call and will definately use them again.

Jason Autry was referred to us when burned wires were discovered inside our water heater, due to incorrect wiring about a year ago on a new water heater. Jason came out the very next day and was able to repair the faulty wiring. He was prompt, courteous, professional, and a meticulous electrician. Jason has done many projects in the house. He is always very professional and courteous. He sticks to his timelines and is always punctual. He has made life-saving corrections to the work of contractors who cut corners before we bought the home in 2009.

Early in June, 2012, an electrician from another company installed an outdoor light in my back yard, tying into an existing under-ground line for a set of lights around the foundation of the house. I chose that electician and company for this job because they had satisfactorily done a repair job on a front-yard light a year earlier--July 2011. However, some negative changes must have taken place in that company during that year; and, unfortunately, it took me a while to acknowledge and accept the new reality. The 2012 job was a months-long series of unreturned calls, no-shows, flimsy excuses, untrue statements, and weekend work. Nothing made sense. When the job was finally completed, the new system failed within days. When I called to report that, the pattern of unreliable behavior began to repeat. I finally accepted the fact that this company would not/could not correct the problem; I needed to write off what I had paid them as a "sunk cost"; and I had to find someone else who could, and would, locate and correct the problem.
At that point, I called Jason Autry, Mid-South Electric. He came as soon as he could work me into his schedule: a few days. He found the problem and laid out the options for dealing with the problem. I decided how I wanted to go; then he corrected the problem. During the process, I found that the initial work was sub-standard and did not meet NC State requirements. Mid South brought it up to code. This story covers Mid-South's June 19, 2012 visit.
On June 26, I called Mid South back when I needed to install a new ceiling fan switch.
On August 9, 2012, I called Mid South again when the outside light in the front yard stopped working.
On each visit, the problem was corrected and the electrical work was completed satisfactorily.

I'm very happy overall with both the price and finished job.
The city inspector, who said he normally fails 40% of all installations, came out, did his inspection and also expressed approval for the quality of the work as he applied his approval sticker.
I will use Mid-South should the occasion arise for any additional work or unforseen repairs.
Jason Autry and his assistant were professional, courteous and diligent. His estimate of the time required was spot on as well as was his estimate of materials. I could not be more pleased, and can recommend Mid-South without any hesitation.
