Great. Gene and his co-worker spent half a day sprucing up the foliage in our yard.

Gene made sure that each tree was cut in a manner that mitigated damage to our home or other trees. He treated each stump with a solution that prevents growth. He cut each tree into manageable sections. He was efficient, careful and interested in doing a good job. We are return customers.

Gene is a very knowledgeable, easy to work with professional.  He knows his business and does it well at a fair price.  I am having him back in the fall to clean out for the winter as well care for roses, etc.

My Wife and I always want to be included in the work that is done around our home. We are fair but insistent about being included. The last two people we used on Angie's excluded us from decisions about our home in screwy ways. They were fired. Gene was a breath of fresh air. He was ontime, responsible, educational and inclusive.
In addition his love of Nature's beauty was exciting. He was our Karl Sagan of Landscaping in that he talked a story about each plant and how it would do and need in the settings you were interested in placing them. Gene spins a great story and he works as hard as he spins!
He was as reliable and reasonable as he was knowledgeable.
There are some rare people who are authentic about what they do in their life. When you meet them , you just know it. This is one of them

Gene is wonderful to work with! He is organized and very efficient. Things would have been done very quickly, but the weather did not want to cooperate with us. Even though we had to postpone the work a couple of times due to the weather, he would call weekly and keep us updated.

I would highly recommend Gene, and his helper Sean, for a variety of landscaping activities. He can certainly work independently. However, if you have a vision of what you want to achieve and want to join in the actual work, Gene is a real pleasure to work with. He's very knowledgeable, skilled, honest and reliable. You can learn a lot from Gene while making improvements to your property.

Gene, showed up as promised and leveled and raked the dirt to accept new seed and then installed the erosion matting over a 45 degree slope. This was a rush job and Gene was able to work me into his schedule to accomplish this task. This is the third time that I have used Gene to help me correct some landscape conditions ahd I would recommend him to anyone seeking landscape helkp.

Gene teamed up with an excavation specialist to help resolve an erosion control problem in my backyard. He did not return my backyard patio to the state that it was prior to the excavation. The project involved removing several large pavers that were placed into a particular design and though he assured me that he had taken good photos so as to be able to return it to its original state, he did not. After his first attempt to do this, met with him to review how the placement\design\curvature of the pavers should be and gave specific details as to how it should look but still he did not return it to the state it had been. I am having to have the patio redone and use river rock and additional pavers of various sizes to fill in the gaps le.ft by the errors @ an additional cost and much aggravation. Very displeased and dissatisfied customer

Our half acre back lot is quite steep and was overgrown with thorny bramble. The area is difficult to access by wheeled vehicles and most of the companies we called for estimates didn't call us back after looking at the challenge. Gene started helping with plantings and mulching but we quickly realized that he was skilled in numerous areas of landscaping. He is a native of North Carolina and graduated from Haywood Community College with a degree in horticulture. After graduation, he worked at the North Carolina Arboretum propagating endangered species, maintaining the grounds and designing and constructing trails. Gene did not shy away from the multiple challenges of our landscape. He has uncanny problem solving skills and is also very creative. He cleared the back lot with a hand held brush cutter. Another company hydroseeded the lot to stabilize the soil. Gene designed an manually constructed a path around the perimeter of the area and installed steps along the path to create a gentle grade for walking. Large stones were used for erosion control and to provide decorative elements. It's stunningly beautiful. The price quoted above was the approximate cost for clearing the .5 acre lot and constructing the path. Gene worked with us on other projects as well (see services performed above). He consistently exceeded our expectations in the quality of his work and the personal attributes he displayed. He is honest, personable and reliable. He is an excellent independent contractor but also works well with a crew. His knowledge of plants and landscaping practices is extensive. He takes great pride in the quality of his work and is focused on customer satisfaction. Additionally, he is a very easy going and nice guy.
