For Women Only Fitness Center

For
those of you that are coming here because Karen (the owner) took down
the "For Women Only" Facebook page: I am owed over $500 because I paid
in full for 2 years, I was only there 2 months when they shut down.
Karen called me to tell me she was sending me a refund check, but for
less than what I'm owed. I figured it was a mistake and nicely attempted
to explain why I'm owed more. She interrupted me, refused to listen,
and hung up on me. I wasn't having an attitude or anything, she was just
being a coward and not wanting to listen. When she called me back 30
seconds later, I knew to use my recorder app to record the conversation.
She argued with me, I let her know it was very rude of her to hang up
on me and I didn't like her attitude. She ignored what I said and argued
about when I opened my account, I told her I have my contract with the
date on it. She was trying to charge me for January and April, I told
her I wasn't there in January and she can't charge me for April because
they're not open.She told me she legally doesn't have to give me
anything, that all contracts are transferred to Nuco gym, and I have to
deal with them for a refund. (Just because the gym doesn't exist,
doesn't mean she is no longer responsible for legal matters tied to the
gym). I explained that if I don't get every penny I'm owed, I will
contact my lawyer. She said "Ok, you get your full refund honey" and
hung up on me. I'm disgusted with the cowardice, greediness, lack of
professionalism, and lack of respect this woman has. She said on the FWO
page that she shut the gym down to go full time Ministry. If these are
her values, she's going in the wrong profession. I contacted Nuco, spoke
with an owner and warned him that she's saying NuCo is responsible for
refunds, and since she is trying to charge people for April he needs to
be prepared for angry people wanting their money back for April. FWO is
also selling the gym equipment, I was about to buy the squat machine for
$1,200, but based on Principle, I will not do business with someone who
treats people like this and lacks integrity. Please pray for her.

to add: When I signed up, I paid in full because I didn't want surprise
money coming from my account. Amanda, the girl who signed me up, said
that she just needed a voided check to have on file but it would NOT go
into the computer since I am paying in full. The next month, fees were
taken out that I had already paid. Also, on numerous times, I was
working out in the VIP area and Amanda kicked me out 30-45minutes before
closing. Any time I was there until closing, everyone else let me stay
until closing, but EVERY time Amanda was there until closing...I was
kicked out early. One time she made the excuse the cleaning company was
on their way and I needed to leave, I parked elsewhere and watched. I
waited until 30 minutes after closing, no one ever went into FWO or VIP.
The day I found out FWO/VIP was closed, was the day I was going in to
complain about it.
