"Leaving an inaccurate review THREE YEARS AFTER work was SATISFACTORILY completed is ridiculous. This type of false review should NOT be allowed by Angie's List since it is such an inaccurate account of the events that took place. A written estimate of $80 per service ($160/month) was given and accepted by this member. Work was performed SATISFACTORILY and with NO COMPLAINTS for seven months at that price. One year later, a second written estimate for additional work was given for $1400 which was ALSO ACCEPTED by this member. The estimate included removal of 14 bushes, replanting of 37 shrubs, and installation of 10 yards of mulch. There were also multiple tree roots that had grown underneath and lifted a portion of the concrete sidewalk. We lifted the slab by hand and removed the obstructing roots and replaced and leveled the concrete slab. The customer was home the entire time we were on the property and she was ECSTATIC about the visual transformation. She paid us in full for satisfactorily completing it. She never hesitated to pay the price that she was quoted and approved prior to beginning the work. As far as calling us to do more work and us not returning calls…THAT NEVER HAPPENED! We had expected her to call the following spring for some future work but we NEVER GOT A PHONE CALL, TEXT or EMAIL from this member! We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service and always return calls or messages. PLEASE LEAVE ACCURATE REVIEWS ON ANGIE'S LIST! This is NOT accurate. Our 3-time SUPER SERVICE AWARD on Angie's List proves our professionalism."
"Thank you for leaving an accurate review [Member Info Removed]! We enjoy being your lawn care provider and look forward to maintaining your property for years to come."
"THIS IS NOT AN ACCURATE REVIEW! We performed services for this member for OVER seven years. We SATISFACTORILY performed the duties for which we were hired during that time. The two properties we serviced for this member were a total of almost seven acres. At the time of our termination, we were having an issue with one of our mowers due to normal wear and tear BUT were making proper repairs to fix any problems that may lower the quality of the cut. When this member expressed their dissatisfaction of one particular service (out of SEVEN YEARS of weekly, satisfactory service), we responded by providing a "free" service to the primary property and two, yes, TWO "free" services to the secondary property. At $85.00 per service that is $225.00 worth of service at NO COST TO THIS MEMBER. At this point, even though we had gone above and beyond what should be expected of ANY service company, the working relationship began to deteriorate nonetheless. This was not our intention. We have not provided ANY additional services for this member since May 2013. The fact that they waited a YEAR AND A HALF to leave any review here, much less such an inaccurate review, is really quite baffling. We will continue to provide top notch, superior quality service to ALL our existing and potential customers...as our THREE TIME ANGIE'S LIST SUPER SERVICE AWARD reflects!"
I hired this company in August 2013. He seemed nice and he charged the same amount as the larger companies. I hired him because I wanted to support a smaller company. I didnt like how there was no bill but I agreed to his system of having the customer leave a check somewhere on the property, for him to pick up after the service. I told him this didnt seem optimal to me for a billing process but he assured me it worked well for his other customers. So I hired him. I have a small lawn and the quality was fine. He came every other week and the day of the week changed a few times. I understand people getting sick and weather issues; if there were a bill that came when service was rendered it wouldnt matter as much. But I didnt want to create a hassle because he seemed nice and I wanted to support a smaller business. I did finally call him recently because the check I left out had been there for quite some time and I wasnt sure how often or when he was coming. And I didnt want to leave a check outside for an undetermined amount of time. So I actually called him and even agreed to his suggestion of some additional work. Then, I received a surprisingly unprofessional and immature text to my personal cell phone on the weekend. He said he read my angies list review and was very unhappy about it. Which is odd as I was very generous with a B overall rating. I replied him back that I was honest with my Angies List review, as I had been with him when I hired him. But with this kind of unprofessional communication, I would need to terminate his services. He replied back with an even more inappropriate text, that was offensive and harrassing.
i still cannot believe the unprofessionalism of Cross Creek Lawn. He read my Angies List review and took it personally and went on the offensive. A professional would either used the review as constructive criticism or have called me and asked what he could do to improve. I would have respected him, continued his services, and even improved my review. As it is, I will be sure to caution my family and friends about this business.
"WHAT??? I just spoke with this customer on 1/17/14 and everything seemed fine. As a matter of fact, she called to touch base with me to discuss another job cleaning her flower beds and installing mulch. She NEVER voiced displeasure with anything that she stated in this review. As for billing, it was explained before we were hired that we are not a credit agency and we DO NOT bill our customers. When services are rendered, payment is due and she agreed to leave payment in a secure location both her and I agreed upon. As for my personal health, I don't feel that has ANYTHING to do with job performance and when asked if she was pleased with the quality of our work she always said "yes." Yes, we did have to shift days a couple of times due to weather which I CAN'T control. As of 10/13 we started altering scheduled services when the yard did NOT need maintenance. The weeks we missed were done so because I felt it unprofessional and ethically WRONG to charge a customer for services that didn't need to be performed."
"We have been doing the customer's lawn service work for 4 years now. We've have never had any complaints from him but ALWAYS welcome input. Yes, it is true that I don't always call customers new and current right back. One thing I've learned in this business is that the most important customer you have is the one right in front of you. As for punctuality, we have never set "appointments" for lawn service. We have daily routes and depending on each jobs requirements we work each days route as quickly but as thoroughly and professionally as possible. It is my hope that we continue doing the customer's service work for years to come as well as all of our customers."
They did an excellent job. Very professional and kept to the timeline to complete the job.
"I contacted angieslist and told them this was an inaccurate review in an attempt to give whomever did the work for this person the review. After speaking to an angieslist rep, she insisted that it WAS indeed Cross Creek Lawn Service that performed said services. According to our records we've never performed services of ANY nature for this member. Her residence is not even in our service area. The fact that she mentioned that we had a "few" old staff is also inaccurate. I have myself and a helper, that's it and Neither of us is old. If you pay close attention to the time line of when the work was done supposedly by us you will see that the dates don't correspond. The "date work completed" is 10-05-2011. The "description of work" states the work was done in December of 2011. Again, these dates don't correspond. Again, we have never done work for this person. As far as for our prices, ask ANY of our customers, we diligently stick to our quoted prices even at the risk of loosing money."
I needed hedges trimmed (and debris hauled), weed eating, edging, and some other general lawn care tasks. After meeting with Mr. Crabtree, I felt comfortable in hiring him to mow the lawn, too.I met with Mr. Crabtree on June 19th, and we were able to get the work done on Thursday, June 30th. Once he and his partner (Richard) arrived, they quickly went to work on a day that was very hot and humid. Despite the heat, they worked quickly - and they teamed up on the tasks very effectively.
Because I asked them to mow and do some weed eating tasks in an additional area, I paid them $100.00 more than our original verbal agreement. I found Mr. Crabtree to be a very friendly and fair gentleman, and I felt like we both were in agreement that the price was fair - for the work to be done.I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they worked to complete the tasks, and I was very happy at the end result. The hedges looked great. The edging looked nice. The weed eating work was thorough. The lawn looked very nice when they were done. All in all, they did a professional, thorough job, and I'd hire them again - without question.
It was a pleasure to do business with them.
In my opinion, the other Angie's List laudable reviews for Mr. Crabtree's services were completely accurate - and well deserved.
