-contractor had to return to correct issues with workmanship with kitchen cabinets; that individual was very professional
-the grout in the ceramic tile was not sealed as we were promised; contractor did return to follow up but grout had already been soiled. Glen Anderson told us that most people didn't seal the grout. Other reputable installers told us the opposite
-numerous pieces of shoe mold on the hardwood floor became detached from the wall because it had been carelessly stapled
-the kitchen table initially delivered appeared to be used, with a very scratched and marred surface. It had to be replaced
The sink that my wife initially ordered could not be installed because someone had cut the wrong holes in the counter top. Despie the fact that the owner said he would tear out the completed counter top and start over, my wife scoffed at the thought of having her kitchen torn up again. She opted to take a different design of sink to match the holes that were incorrectly cut.
-contractor could not properly properly install the faucet in the expensive kitchen sink properly. Glen sent someone to redo the job several times but the person could not get the tension to properly seat the faucet. I called the manufacturer and was told that any person experienced with installing that type of faucet should be able to read the directions and properly install the faucet
-The tile that was installed on the kitchen wall behind the sink was not sealed. Contractor had to return to finish the job
-The worst part of this whole job was the lack of response from Glen Anderson. We kept getting one pathetic excuse after the other as to why things weren't done to our satisfaction and why it took so long to get someone to retrn to correct defective service. Also, I had questions about several service contracts and the charges listed on them, charges that did not appear on the initial documents. Glen avoided us for the longest time to the point that I contacted a Carpet One regional office out of state. They remarked that he did not respond to their initial attempts to contact him. For lack of a kinder word, we felt that we were lied to in order to excuse the problems that existed.
I would never hire Carpet One to do anything at all in my house again.
The next day (Wednesday), Dale came on time. Actually a couple minutes early, and he told me what would be done and how the finished job would look. We had an extra piece of the same carpet from installation out in the garage, he went in there and looked at it, and explained that since the rest of our carpet has been down since August, that the brand new piece would look different and would be like night and day but that it would become less noticeable over time. He was also very helpful and friendly. It took him about 5 minutes and he told me Mary would call me back with the exact price and to schedule the repair. She called me very promptly, and we scheduled the apt. for Friday. She explained we'd have to come in and fill out some paperwork and pay (which we did Thursday).
Friday (today) Charlie came out to do the job. He was on time, and basically came in the door talking my ear off. Which is a good thing! Every time I've ever had someone come out to our house to do a job, they just wanted to do their work and didn't really talk. So it's awkward to the point where you feel like you have to go into another room and just let them work. Not Charlie! He was awesome, he felt more like an old friend coming to visit than just someone here to do a job. I instantly felt comfortable with him, like I've known him for years. He is friendly and very easy to talk to. We shared a cup of coffee and talked the whole time he worked. But that didn't distract him! He did an outstanding job. I was amazed by how good it looks. As Dale said, it was going to be obvious like night and day where the patch is. So that's what I was expecting. But you can barely tell. You can still tell, but not nearly as much as I was expecting. And Charlie was very confident that in a few months of wear you won't even be able to tell where the patch is or that it was ever repaired. And I believe him, because you can barely tell now. Not only was he friendly, and easy to talk to, but he was very professional and great at his job. I would recommend Charlie to anyone. And if we need another repair done I would request him personally.
My experience with this company was outstanding, and I would recommend them to anyone! From their receptionists and customer service, to their handymen and their professionalism, and even to price (which I feel was very fair) they are amazing and get an A+ rating in my book =]
