Signed contract with Glen Latour of Alliance Contracting to complete job at local tea shop in July 2011. It is now October and the job is not even half way complete! Glen Latour has tons of excuses, always gave us the run around, the shove around a and avoids our phone calls. We were such fools to have entrusted him with this project. Here's a brief list of the type of shoddy job he has done: 1. Dry walls - lots of cracks left unspackled. Poor taping job between dry walls and the unevenness is showing thru the paint. 2. Did not mud all the dry walls before painting them! Painted right over the existing wall paper trim too (when he should have a removed it first.) 3. Very poor paint jobs. He used rollers and paint brushes to paint an entire store the size of 1700 Sq ft. What's his excuse for not using a paint sprayer? It's too troublesome to clean the paint sprays. 4. Bad tiling job! Tiles in both rest rooms need to redone. The floors were not prepped and evened out before the tiles were laid down. Now it's just floors of uneven tiles, and some are even lose and broken. Not to mention many tiles thru out the store will need to be changed out for the same problems. 5. Does not clean up! A ton of construction waste has been sitting in the back of the store and the office ever since the construction. It's been rained on and now mold is just festering! Have told him many over the course of 3 months to remove them but it's one excuse after another with Glen Latour! The last one, he claimed that he didn't want to do it until he consult his lawyer. That was two weeks ago and we haven't heard from him or his so called lawyer! 6. Pretends to work and act busy whenever we come around to check on the progress. What type of pretend busy work? Sweeping the floor with a small plastic house broom. Seriously, in a 1700 sq ft store?!! On another occassion, one worker was pretending to screw-in the nail to the dry wall (he must have left his power tools at home.) 7. Spilled a can of paint on the carpet. Glen Latour said he will clean it up once it dries, so that it'll just peel off. It's been two months and the mess is still not cleaned up. 8. A liar thru and thru. He was the first one we called when we were looking to purchase the countertops at the Border's liquidations. We sent him pictures and dimensions of the countertops, and he even went to see it in person. We purchased the set with his recommendation and personal reassurance that he can fit them into the store's service area. Now he complains that he was never consulted and cannot make the countertops fit! 9. Glen Latour is a CON ARTIST and he is a very smooth talker. Don't believe him especially when he seems to make sense; he is just blowing smoke in your eyes and shielding the real problems from sight. He always blames others and bad mouths everyone including the city inspectors for being difficult and unavailable most of the time as to why the project has delayed for so long and needing changes to meet the city codes. We found out later when having to deal with the city inspectors on our own that they were actually quite responsive and helpful. Also likewise, he has been bad mouthing us to everyone else including the plumber, electrician, and the gas man. 10. GLen Latour's has yet to show his contractor's license which he claims is multi-state. The only one we found was the one from MA and it has since expired in Aug 2011. When asked to provide proof of his license, he gave us a long and windy story about how he has just sent in the renewal fee and the license was sent to his father's address, so we would have to wait a few weeks to see it. Then he curtly inquires as to WHY we asked for it (that was back in late Sept 2011) and we have yet to see it. see for yourself at this link: http://db.state.ma.us/dps/licdetails.asp?txtSearchLN=CSL81052 These are his phone numbers: 508-981-2052, 910-973-3086, 910- 321-8918, 910-764-6119. 11. Glen Latour is a Sabatour! He poured/smeared grout into both drainage pipes in the kitchen. Either he didn't know what he was doing or he did it with malice intent knowing that his days were numbered, you decide. 12. GLen Latour has abandoned his rental property on 2818 Marcus James Dr, Fayetteville, NC28306; which was also his business residence. We learned it from his landlord who says that the initial year rental contract has expired and that the property was on a month to month basis. GLen Latour appears to have skipped the town of Fayetteville, NC and is now on the prowl for another town and more innocent victims. Be on the look out for this scum and report him to the authorities if you see him. This is only a tip of the ice berg; we have tons of pictures to show you! When confronted with the deficiencies, he threaten to pull the permits on the works already done and that he was consulting a lawyer. Never heard from him again and it's been two weeks. Now the shop is left in a filthy mess...we couldn't even get him to clean up and dispose of the construction trash without him crying about wanting a lawyer. He also complain about not getting paid enough, although he signed a contract. Between the substandard quality of work; him hiring unlicenced contractors, what BS! After he has swindled us out of $27,500, we wouldn't go anywhere near this guy. DO NOT TRUST GLEN LATOUR!
