As far as filling my unit with freon, it went great, except for the unholy price tag.
I called after my real estate agent recommended this place because the home inspection revealed the AC didn't work. Instead of scheduling a time that I could be there, they came over while I wasn't there (just my agent) and then I was told my unit needed freon. That was it. Not that it had a leak that needed to be fixed, just that it needed freon. I would have preferred they attempt to find and fix the leak. After calling 3 more times, the owner finally told me there was probably a leak in the evap coils and I could replace them (they didn't even look at them) but really, with a 10 year old unit, I should go ahead and replace the whole shebang (this cost me $80 for a service fee on top of $673.60 listed above). After convincing the owner I couldn't afford to replace the whole unit, he relented and agreed to just put freon in it. The appointment was made and a technician came out and filled her up......at over $100 a pound (over 5 pounds needed)!! I was told it was so expensive because the government is hiking up the price to try to get people to switch to the new, more environmentally friendly coolant filled units. Had I not had a few conversations with knowledgeable people, I would have thought nothing was amiss (accept the guy not even trying to see why my unit was leaking freon and being reluctant to tell me there was a leak in the first place). But I work with a guy who still has his contractors license and had just bought freon for about a tenth what I paid. I completely understand that companies have to mark up their products to make money-that is how they stay in business-but I feel I was intentionally misled and taken advantage of by this company. I asked around and found another HVAC guy who was friendly, prompt, found the leak, fixed it, and then only charged me $150 to charge the unit with freon.
BRANN AND SONS RIPPED ME OFF BIG TIME!!! I learned from my mistake though!

Brann and Sons Heating/AC Co was very thorough, prompt, and professional. All employees were very polite, courteous, and helpful. All work was performed in a timely manner. Price was very fair and reasonable. The company is very professionally run. I have used Brann's in the past and will certainly use them when needed in the future. I would reccommend Brann and Sons Heating/AC Co. to anyone in Eastern North Carolina.
