Exterior Contractor

They answered the phone and came to my house within 2 hours. They gave me a reasonable price to make the roofing repair after high winds had removed a few shingles. I had extra shingles on hand and they made the repair. We have had much higher winds since then and everything is doing well.

Both times, Benjamin came in a matter of hours and took care of the problems in short order. I could not be more pleased with his punctuality and work ethic. He did a fantastic job at a more than reasonable price. I asked him about new siding for my house and he told me that he really didn't like to take on big jobs like that because they take so long, he likes smaller jobs. Before he left that day, he told me if I decided to re-side the house to call him and he would do the job for me........ I Wish I Had.........Contracted with another person and had nothing but problems!

Gutter leak repair did not fox the leak. Vendor complained about the distance he had to travel and long-standing beef with Angie's List hooking him up with deals out of his area. He made it clear that he would not be interested any future roof work I needed.

Benjamin and his crew performed the job as flawlessly and professionally as anyone could possibly expect. The quote we were given was very reasonable. We were given great advice on choosing the shingle color. Benjamin was always available to speak, even before we committed to hiring him. The job was completed when promised and we were updated frequently. The roof was done within the week, and we only had to wait on the chimney cap to be fabricated and painted. The area was left as clean as before they arrived. If we didn't see the roof, we would not have know they had been here. If we ever need a service that Exterior Contractors provides, there will be no need to call anyone else. Honest, dependable and ethical. This company has earned it's high marks and deserves to be recognized as one of Angie's List's best.

There seems to be a problem between the data that a member provides and what the contractor can see.

Exterior Contractors, Ben, got back to me within 1 day after I joined Angie's List and we setup a time frame for Ben to come out and review our roof.

Ben did come out but he was 2 days late. Seems there was a mix-up in my location from the data base. Hope that is corrected.

After looking at the roof, Ben said he and his crew would be back a 2pm on 3/12/16.

At 2pm on 3/12/16, Ben and his back-up man came to the house to do the needed maintenance repairs.  They did a very good job and cleaned up the roof when they were completed.

Over all I am happy with Exterior's work.

NOTE: I see the problem why Ben was late.

Description of Work: Replaced a burst outdoor faucet, which required digging a roughly 4 x 2 foot hole.







Member Comments: The faucet burst on Christmas Eve, so this was messy work in very cold weather. They were hampered a bit when my dog jumped in their hole to try to bury a chicken leg. They were prompt, cheerful & courteous (they even disposed of the chicken leg for me). They kept the dirt on a tarp and completely and tidily replaced it afterward. I've used this company repeatedly, which happens when you have a 50-year-old house, and they've always gone above and beyond. They warranty their work and nothing has ever gone wrong. On previous jobs, I've pulled the "while you're here, could you look at this, too?" bit. They've done so if their schedule allows, but sometimes said they couldn't, which shows me they respect the customers who are after me.

Description of Work: We dropped off our 65-pound Airedale Terrier who was in bad need of a haircut. I described how my kids wanted the dog's hair cut ("make her look like an Airedale"); my 11-year-old daughter also wrote a note asking them to put bows in her hair. The dog is a year and a half old, great personality but lots of energy. I suspect she's a handful to make stand still to groom.

Member Comments: The sloppiest work I have ever seen! Paint runs; didn't prime the wall before painting; caulking is like toothpaste; didn't use painter's tape to achieve straight lines. I told him over and over how I wanted it done, but he did not take any pride in his work. I got his name from a neighbor who used him to paint the exterior of his home and he was happy, but this guy is not qualified to do interior work. I would never recommend him to anyone. Benjamin came to my home very quickly after I contacted him, explained what would be done in detail and provided me with a cost very quickly.  He performed the services in a timely manner and was very professional.  He answered all of my questions and did an excellent job of explaining how the work would be completed and at the finish of the job, did a thorough review of the work to make sure everything was done properly.  All of his workers were cordial and worked hard to meet the deadline agreed to by Benjamin.  I would certainly recommend Exterior Contractor to friends and neighbors and would use them again if needed in the future.

Benjamin representing Exterior Contractor came out to our house in the middle of the bad weather, climbed up on our roof even though  it was partially covered with snow and provided us with an estimate for the work.  He was helpful in explaining what his company would do and gave us an estimated price for the work which we considered more than reasonable..  Once a date was set for the work the following week, the crew arrived promptly as promised and completed the job in two days and promised. All in all it was a good experience for us and we would hire the company again if needed.

We received an estimate of $750.  When we told him we had a 2nd estimate he came back and reduced it to $675.00.  Then we came to Angie's list to check him out.  Found a coupon worth $500 of work and we pay $250.00.  So I paid the $250.00.  Which means my balance to the roofer would be $175.00. ($675-$500=$175).    
1.  The roofer contacted me to set up a time for the repairs.  After discussion he said he would call me back after checking his schedule to set up the time.  The following Monday I received a call saying he was on his way.  I was a little irritated as he didn't call first to schedule.  I was getting ready to leave, but he came out anyway and worked on the roof for about 4 hours.  We assume it is fixed, but really won't know until we get a good rain.
2.  After the repairs, the roofer contacted us and said that he saw we purchased the deal through Angie's list.  He said that we couldn't use two promotions at the same time - meaning that we couldn't use the 10% he gave us in the beginning plus the $500 that we purchased.  My husband didn't accept that, as the 10% discount was to get our business.  So, he reluctantly honored both discounts.
So, bottom line is we really don't know yet if the work was completed satisfactorily and just be careful and make sure you know what promotions you are getting.

Ben came to give an estimate promptly, was friendly and able to accommodate my requests for added services.  I was very satisfied with the result  and improvements made to the house.   I would  definitely use Exterior Contractor again.
