Taylor's Moving

Taylor Moving handled our move from Hillsborough to the Chicago 'burbs at the end of May. Dungee, the owner, and his team did a great job loading our packed boxes, protecting furniture, and unloading at the destination. The guys were on-time, fast, very efficient (the packing job in particular), clean, careful, and pleasant to work with during the entire process. Other than a slightly damaged slat on the back of a rocking chair (which Dungee assured us he'd take care of after we had it repaired), everything was delivered intact. The only glitch we experienced was their truck breaking down in Indiana on the way to deliver the load, putting us a couple hours behind schedule. They easily 'made up' the time and were finished much quicker than expected.
Taylor's prices were reasonable and were in the middle area between the ways you could handle a big move DIY-style (hiring loaders, renting a truck & driving yourself, hiring unloaders) and the large national moving companies. It's a Durham-based family owned and operated business that's definitely worth a look if you have a move to make. I would unreservedly recommend them to help you with any or all parts of your move.

I don't remember how much they charged me. That was the first time I used them. The quality was so-so. I was a little disappointed. I thought they were rough with the furniture and they nicked the floors. They were about average on the price. I did some comparisons and their rates were average. I would not use them again.

They made sure everything was safe and did a good job. They went an extra mile and arranged some furniture for me. However, the bill came $300 more than what we had agreed on. I guess extra mile comes with extra cost.

I was very please with the work. When they came, it only took about 45 minutes to pack and load what I wanted moved. I was not moving most of my furniture as the style of the new house is much different. It was an extremely hot day and all 4 movers worked steadily and with great spirit. I would call them again for any move I had, whether a few items or a whole house; they came prepared for either. The crew was very friendly and put me at ease right away.

They are amazing! We kept putting off getting an estimate because our house was in such disarray and we kept wanting to get things more organized first. They were so flexible with all my last minute date changes. My husband met Mr. Taylor for the estimate and we got started the very next day. We had a team of 6 men working two full days, and they were so efficient, professional and personable. They packed our entire kitchen, garage, attic, bedroom, craft room and moved all of our things! We had lots of stairs and heavy items along with some specialty items like grandfather clock. Everything was packed with such attention to detail, and they fit furniture upstairs that I would not have imagined possible!

Mr. Taylor and his crew were without exception professional, upbeat, careful and proactive in finding ways to accommodate our needs during the move. They came on time, finished the move quickly and cheerfully, avoided any damage to either residence as well as to our belongings and asked for guidance at all the right points to be sure all was as we wanted it. One shining example of their patient helpfulness came in trying various arrangements of four very heavy items in their new second story location to maximize subsequent utility to us. Three different arrangements were tried with the men's very kind and cheerful help. It was an arrangement suggested by one of the men that finally did the trick. In our experience, Taylor's Moving was professional, friendly, efficient and very helpful. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Mr. Taylor's moving crew made what could have been a painful move for me into an easy time. I contacted them for an estimate, which was originally $950 for the contents of my 3 bedroom house. When I hurt my back a few days later, they sent a couple of guys out to bring me boxes and help me pack. On moving day, they were on time, fast and efficient. They took great care with my furniture, wrapping everything in blankets and plastic. Nothing got scratched or broken. They were done in about 4-1/2 hours, and I have a lot of stuff. They didn't let me lift a thing, and even unpacked my car for me, putting everything where I asked them to. A few days later, they came by again to take away the boxes, and even took away all the packing trash for me. I was impressed by their work ethic, and the dedication and hard work of the whole crew. I would recommend them to anyone moving in the area. Great guys, hard working, very fair and a pleasure to deal with.
