The most major problem: they painted latex paint over oil paint on my trim and cabinetry, without priming or sanding, so that it started to peel shortly after I kicked them out. There was one painter, who occasionally had his father-in-law (a plumber) and a friend landscaper come in and help. They smoked in my home, even after I asked him politely not to do so. They drank my liquor. They made a mess, got paint all over my carpets, got paint and drywall mud all over my hardwood floors. They used a sprayer on the dental moulding, and let it drip -- and then when they went back to fix that, they over sanded and damaged some of the teeth. They stained my sink (Corian). They were in my home for five weeks, three weeks longer than they estimated, before I kicked them out. The painter told me to f-word myself. They accused me of being picky when I pointed out areas that weren't painted, eg around light fixtures. I will be paying $7500 more to get the job finished by professionals.
