Signature Piano Service

The service worked out great. I had extra work done, and so I paid more than the $99 of the big deal. I paid an additional $250. They were friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. I don't have much to compare, but the price seemed reasonable to me.

It was a very positive and helpful experience. Mr. Darin Beery arrived on time, was very professional and pleasant. He spent a lot of time carefully tuning my piano, which had not been tuned in 4 years. He was very careful, and carefully explained what he was doing. I would hire him again in a heartbeat, and very enthusiastically recommend him.

It went very well. He was very good at what he does also a very nice man. I would want him back definitely.

Darin from Barnes Piano arrived on time at the scheduled appointment time. He introduced himself and promptly removed his shoes in respect of our floor coverings. I showed Darin our piano and he asked a series of questions to get to know me, the instrument and how we utilize the piano in our lives. He explained the service we purchased through an Angie's List deal and also the possibility that based on the age, duration since last tuning and other factors, it might require more extensive procedures. This was no surprise as all the correspondence leading up to the appointment had explained this as well. Darin did a quick estimate of how out of tune the piano was and then provided the level of extra work required to bring the instrument back into proper tune. He also investigated our "sticking keys" issue and provided an estimate for fixing during his visit. After explaining the work he would perform, the timeframe it would take and gaining acceptance from me to proceed, he went to work fixing the keys and tuning the piano. After tuning the piano he played a few notes and asked if I was satisfied with the work. He also explained a few items that could be addressed, if wanted, to provide the best sound and use of the instrument. While informative, Darin was not "pushy" in trying oversell any additional services or accessories. I felt a genuine sense of honesty in his suggestions for me to better enjoy and protect my instrument. Prior to leaving Darin provided a few business cards and a review card and insisted that I contact him if I was not completely satisfied with the work performed. I was extremely satisfied with my interactions with Darin and Barnes Piano and recommend their services.

The tech was good and the experience turned out well. He tuned our Spinet Piano. I couldn't praise them more highly!

It is a dead piano and has some structural problems. He was really nice, thorough, wonderful, and upfront about it. He did some things so if could be played briefly. He was excellent and I would highly recommend him. He did what he could and understood what needed to be done. I would call him back in a heartbeat and he got the job done in about 2 hours.

Went very well. I still need a return visit from the tuner because I think the lid to the piano is not sitting properly in its place, but that is an easy fix. Just need to schedule him to return. Would highly recommend.

There in Charlotte and I'm in Raleigh and we just couldn't get together. Plus there was gonna be a lot of additional cost. C grade only because we couldn't get together on the price to get the work done.

This was terrific! The technician, Darren, sold me! He had a very difficult assignment with a very old piano. Within the three hours, he turned it into a playable piano. He also told me about other things that needed to be done but left it up to me. He was very respectful and responsive. I would highly recommend him! There were some extra costs involved for the repair of the piano, but I think it was reasonable for what he did.

Although there were several issues that arose during the tuning, it was because of the instrument, not the provider. Darin was punctual, thorough, and kept us apprised of everything as it was happening. He was incredibly honest about sharing the limitations of our instrument with us, and provided useful suggestions for how to deal with it moving forward. This was well worth the money, and we definitely will use Barnes Piano for future servicing.

It was a very educational experience. Darin was extremely knowledgeable and explained every aspect of each repair he recommended. He is very personable and I felt confident in securing his expert opinion in helping me decide how to proceed. An impressive professional; I will remain a client for the life of the piano.

The piano tuner was on time and was super nice. He came in and began evaluating my piano and walking me through the process. He was able to determine though test tuning that the piano had not been tuned in 20 years and would take him most of the day to work on it. In addition to the $100 angies list deal, it was going to cost me about $300 more to tune the piano, which I was not prepared for. Even then there was no guarantee that the piano would be tuned to a decent accuracy. So, unfortunately I was unable to have any piano tuning performed.

This company did an excellent job tuning our piano. Everything went smoothly and we would use them again and recommend them highly.

I had an excellent experience with Darin. My piano was in great need of attention due partly to some very poor service by my prior company. Darin spent the time needed to assess the problems and explain what was needed. After his first visit, the piano was again functional and I am looking forward to his next visit. Darin is clearly passionate about his work and very skilled. I'm confident that my piano is in great hands and that I will get solid advice to balance costs and performance. My piano was recently restrung, so it needs to be tuned fairly frequently. Darin has been out twice now and I have been impressed both times with his professionalism and attention to detail. He takes the time and clearly has the ear, skill and interest to make sure that the job is done well. My piano sounds great. I will be using Barnes Piano again in the future.

Darin arrived on time. This was the first time he had seen/tuned my piano, as my previous technician had moved away. I have a Steinway Model B Grand Piano. Darin gave an excellent overview of the work he would perform. He described his findings as he gave the piano a once-over. Once he started tuning, he answered as many questions as I asked. Bottom line result, the piano sounds great. And Darin plays very well too! I think that helps in making the piano sound better overall. I've already scheduled my next tune-up in 6 mos. Thanks Darin!

I purchased a Big Deal coupon for this company. We had to reschedule a couple times due to weather. I would give them a positive rating. I did have to pay another $130 dollars on top of the Angie's List price but I was given notification that it might be some up charges. I think what he did actually did on the piano was fair for the amount of work that he put into it. He was here here for close to four hours. He was very pleasant. He was very professional. I think he did a fine job. I was very pleased. He was here early actually.

Darin is wonderful! He arrived on time, and is courteous and very hard-working. Will definitely have him come back again.

This is the first time in a long time that I have tuned my piano. Darin spent time showing me the inner workings of the piano, what procedures he was doing to the various parts and why, all of which was quite fascinating! He educated my about ongoing care of the piano and what future care is recommended.
