Excellent in every way- my piano sounds like new again

Darin made every effort to tune the piano. Specifically for my needs.

The appointment overall was an excellent experience. Darin Beery from Barnes Piano arrived on time and was very personable throughout the entire appointment. We spent time talking about our backgrounds and our use of the piano. He explained what he was doing throughout the tunings and learned more than I ever had (over 20+ years of tunings). He provided us with a concise report of the work done , and recommended future maintenance. We were very pleased with the work done and will definitely have him return for future annual tunings!

1. Price. The price seemed fair in comparison to other figures I'd seen on Angie's List, plus we saved $35 by buying a coupon and another $35 for completing the recommended tuning and pitch adjustment within 90 days of getting the estimate. Darin also did a pedal adjustment at no added cost. 2. Quality. Based both on on-line reviews and the thoroughness of his work on-site, it was very clear that Darin knows what he is doing and very meticulous about doing it well. He removed his shoes upon entering the house and thoroughly cleaned up after himself. He also sent an on-line version of his recommendations with clear and thorough explanations for what needed doing and why. As well, the company website is well-designed and easy to use, making it easy to schedule an appointment. 3. Responsiveness. I was pleasantly surprised to get the cleaning scheduled within 1 day of calling. 4. Punctuality. Darin called ahead of time to say he would arrive 10 minutes late because his previous tuning had run overtime--a degree of fastidiousness and courtesy quite uncommon among service people who too often arrive 15 or 20 minutes late without or force you to expect their arrival within a 1 or 2 or even 4 hour block (e.g., cable repairs etc.). 5. Professionalism. Darin is exceedingly courteous and polite. I can literally think of nothing negative to say about his visit.

Darin was excellent- he arrived promptly and was very friendly and conscientious. He asked several questions about the piano and performed a comprehensive evaluation. He identified several concerning aspects of the piano but offered several ways to either fix (or temporize). He was extremely professional and knowledgable. He went above and beyond to tune a very out-of-tune piano to temporize until we can purchase a new one. Overall very impressed and will use them again.

Great work. Piano was in good shape but way out of tune. He is an accomplished pianist and knows what he is doing. I will always use him in the future.

I have used Barnes Piano services before, specifically Darin Beery who performed extensive work on my piano last year to bring it back to life. Darin is, simple put, great - a master of his craft and very engaging as well. I could not be more satisfied and will continue to use Darin's services for the life of the instrument.

Administrative staff very responsive in setting up in-home appointment. Darin was on time, professional and well organized. He is passionate about the musical instrument and takes his responsibility to customer very seriously. He took the piano apart and explained the problems he found. He explained the options available and approximate costs for each including the possible added lifetime (or not) for the piano with each option. He provided a comprehensive report via email before he left - this is a tech-savy service provider! I found Darin to be very honest. His honesty and careful evaluation with options available makes the decision-making process clearer but still painful for what to do with my "old friend" the piano.

Darin Berry was the piano technician. He arrived a few minutes early and immediately went to work on my very old baby grand piano. We discussed how long I owned the piano, its history, and how the piano is currently being used. I explained that I purchased the piano as a fixer-upper about 20 years ago. I was told the piano was built in the 1920s or so. It was a drone piano without a brand name that was once a player piano. After he took the piano apart, Darin showed me where the mechanism had been installed and how it affected the piano. He pointed out where previous repairs had been done over the years. Since the piano was in pretty bad shape, we decided that he should only do a basic tuning and pinblock repair of the bass strings. Before he left, he played the piano and it sounded great. Darin was extremely knowledgeable about the complexities of the piano. He was friendly and professional. I would highly recommend him and Barnes Piano.

Mr. Pascone was excellent. He took both great care and time in tuning our piano, making recommendations for how to keep it in shape and how often we should have it tuned. He also offered to send a reminder in 6 months to schedule another tuning. We plan to use him in the future for tuning our piano.

It was great. It went very well. They were on time and did a great job. They were fine in terms of my interactions with them. The piano turned out great. I paid more than the $99 big deal. They came three weeks later after I purchased the big deal.

It was good. Their Angie’s List reviews were excellent. He is incredibly personable, knowledgable and has a very respectful way of doing things. He wouldn’t charge me for anything I didn’t need. You could tell that was his passion.

He needed to raise the pitch a bit, but we decided together that on this 1936 Baldwin upright to go in increments across some tunings. His sense was that that would be better for this older piano. The result is a bright sound in tune as needed and a delightful conversation about pianos with this expert. I will call him again in a year.

We have enjoyed the services of Pascali Piano and Mr. Pascone for approximately 14 years. He does an extremely professional job. We get a reminder when we are due for tuning. Scheduling is easy. Mr. Pascone is always prompt and very pleasant to work with. He has kept our piano in great shape for all these years. He has also been a terrific resource for music information in the area.
