There was a nine week wait before they could come and get the chair and ottoman, but the chair was gone only nine days. It looks great, it is comfortable again, and I am very satified. I would definitely recommend Shaw Upholstery.

They did a GREAT job. Quick estimate and time for me to locate materials. They picked up exactly on time; they called and sent an email photo to clarify fabric placement (which side we wanted to use); they delivered the finished product promptly. Best of all, the workmanship is outstanding! Based on this experience, we'll use them again.

Rod and Bonnie were great communicators throughout the process. They made sure they knew what I wanted and did beautiful work. I love my "new" chair!

I am very pleased with the work. She created the cushions using our old cushions as the design/pattern and they fit perfectly.

We've been redecorating our home the past year or so. We have a chair from my mother's estate that had almost gone to salvage until my older daughter shared that in her childhood visits to Grandmom's, she'd sit in it a pretend to be a princess. So it was reprieved on the notion that someday (my daughter who now lives in Guatemala) will have it. In the meantime, our disturbed cat soiled it so we needed to have it re-upholstered. We contacted Shaw Upholstery (ref via Angie's List) . They took a look at it, told us how much fabric it would take and scheduled the work. My wife's style radar found a fabric (lots of in-the-weave texture of tiny "wrinkles", silk-like, shimmers and it's color shades vary with the changing light thorough-out the day). The Shaws re-upholstered it. Their work was outstanding and the fabric is amazing. Mr. Shaw loaded it in my van while I was inside. When I came out, he'd left the van door open so I could see it in the morning light. He was standing there with a grin. WOW. We hadn't really anticipated how interesting and beautiful the result might be. I imagine the Shaws must have enjoyed working on the piece as much as we're enjoying having it in our home.

I worked through a Durham interior designer who did all the coordination and pick up and drop off. They were on time and did good work. The only reason I marked them down a little was the use of thread on the double welting was too light and the stitch a little too large. This was minor. They did lovely work. Very fast. I would use them again. Next time I will act as my own agent.

This company was by far the most pleasant experience I have ever had with any service provider that I have used, including all of the many service providers that I identified using Angie's list. The cost was much less than I had expected. They even told me where I could go to pick out and buy my outdoor material at a great savings rather than having them order it for me. This is a family owned and operated business by the Shaws. Although it was a little difficult to find there shop because of the small business sign that was located on the top of a building on a very busy street, it was definitely worth the effort to find them. There shop is small, but there capabilities are outstanding. They definitely are experts in their field of business. They spent much time and effort to understand what I needed and what I wanted to have accomplished. In all honesty, I was tremendously impressed with the exceptional competency, friendliness and performance. For example, when I learned that was unexpectedly having out-of-town company visiting me prior to the original delivery date, I called on short notice, and they were able to complete the swing cushions in time for the requested earlier delivery date. I plan to use them again in the future. I wholeheartedly would recommend that everyone give serious consideration in having the Shaws for their upholstering needs.

Originally I had the work done and was very pleased with their service (pick up and delivery), quick turnaround after pick up and the quality of the foams they provided. Mr. Shaw even put a new support in the couch which really helped give it new life. Right after I had the work done, I had a stove to go bad and had a lot of smoke damage. They worked with me to get the items replaced or corrected before the holidays and were very friendly and helpful.
