We did not have any experience with Real Estate, so we contacted a few offices with the same email José was the only one to respond to our inquiry of "We are interested in buying a house, but don't know where to start" with responses to our questions rather than attempting to schedule a meeting with us. We really appreciated the fact that he was free with the information we were looking for, and did not attempt to use it as a way to get us in his office (as opposed to the other agents who said "We'll be happy to answer your questions, when can you come by our office or talk on the phone?")
When we decided to hire José, he invited us to his office where he narrowed down some search results and we began looking at homes that same day. He did not pressure us on any of the homes, and he was very honest with us. Some of the homes we went in to, he was very honest with details like "This Kitchen will need to be updated before you could re-sell it," or that the home seemed overpriced. He also pointed out when he thought a home was well priced and unlikely to lose much value, and respected our budget. He did not try to push us to the upper end of our price range.
When we started moving towards making an offer on a house, José was always available to speak early in the morning and late in the evening. It seemed like he never stopped working! José was very helpful in our negotiating process, and ended up helping us close on the house. Additionally, he recommended services like Painters, Loan Officers, and Real Estate Attorney's he had worked with before. All of them did a fantastic job.
I believe the there is no such thing as a stress-free home buying situation. But José Serrano of Prudential's York Simpson Group made buying a home as close to stress free as possible. We will be recommending him to all of our friends.
