Pleasant interaction with salesperson. Told would be 3 weeks to complete finishing. Checked after 3 weeks, told it would be 4 because their finisher was behind. Called at week 5 was told would be given a call the following Wed or Fri to pick it up. No call came. Now into 7th week and no furniture. They took the money on day one and seem to be incapable of managing their finisher or giving good service. to their customers. They did not take any initiative to alert me of delays.

We here at Rockwood are sorry that this customer had a bad experience. Custom furniture sometimes takes a little longer to acheive the end result. Since we do not own the finishing company used to finish this piece, we were not able to control the problems that arose during the completion of the piece. We are not in the habit of calling a customer to say it is not done yet. We relay the information given to us as best we can, but untimately we are subject to the elements and delays that occur from unfortold circumstances. It is always our goal to deliver great pieces at great prices and stand behind their quality. It goes without saying that there are many different quality levels in furniture, and we hold our vendors to high standards to produce the best peices at the price level for which they are sold. We offer many different styles and quality levels and try our best to point out those differences when assisting customers. We are a small shop and do not have a large staff, so we try to offer personal service. It is not possible for us to call every customer every day to inform them that their piece is not yet ready. To disrupt the finisher everyday slows him down and only adds to the delay. Again, we are sorry this customer was dissapointed that it took longer to get the piece back from the finisher, but she received a great piece finished the way she asked for it, and it will last her many years. I am sorry that she did not relay her dismay to us, so we could have responded to her or at least offered her something to ease her distress. The finishing time did not take 7 weeks. she purchased it on Oct. 19th and it did take, 5 weeks, and she then did not pick it up for over a week. We do not charge for the service until it is complete. So we did not take her money and give her nothing. She did not pay for the service until it was complete. That is standard practice.
