I pay a monthly fee of $10, the part they replaced and the labor was $700 so I think I made out well.

The technician was here in five minutes, turned out he was right around the corner when I called. He came in checked it out, ordered the part and returned the next day.

PSNC Sent a sales representative to provide a quote and write up the contract, and scheduled the service.  At the time, I specifically asked about the limits of city inspections in regards to my gas lines, as the home inspector felt that there may be issues with the water heater being up to code, and while I intended to upgrade, I wasn't sure it would be complete in time for the gas line inspection.  The workers arrived on time and were very fast and courteous.  They also completely disconnected my water heater, because they felt it was a hazard, and left it so that I was unable to have hot water until a plumber could come out and fix the problem.  IF the original sales representative had been as knowledgeable as the people doing the work, I could have had this taken care of ahead of time.  But he had told me, very specifically, that the inspector and the installation workers would be looking at nothing other than the gas line they were connecting with.  Therefore, the day I moved into my house, I unexpectedly had no hot water.  It was a situation that could have been completely avoided.

Overall the service I received from PSNC was professional and excellently performed. I watched them as they methodically went through their tasks. I would suggest that you place some sort of covering over your floors or carpet (especially if they come in inclement weather) because they will likely have to into your yard or basement and they could track dirt into your home and flooring. So be prepared for dirt. Also clear a path from the entrance way to the work site. It helps to ease congestion. Also, avoid small talk and idle chattering until the job is finish. All particulars are usually dealt with before these guys arrive. They have a printed and signed copy of the work order you agreed to in hand so any changes will stop the process and work will have to be re-scheduled.
