Adam scheduled an appointment the same day I called to come to talk to us. He told us when he would be able to start, and was within a day of his estimate. The job took a week due to his doing much of the work himself, and it was done right. He gave us an estimate that remained true throughout the project except for some extra work he did for us for which we agreed on a rate.
The grading was not easy as we are on a downhill slope toward a creek and we had to direct a lot of water to an appropriate area. He knew just what to do, and it works just as we hoped and expected. We asked him to do some extra Bobcat work and he also helped with laying new drainage pipe under the patio and down the yard, expertly using a ditch machine. Anything we asked that he could accommodate, he cheerfully did. He gave a couple of suggestions for our new patio, we followed them and it turned out beautifully. The project proceeded without interruption in the time frame he had given us. We couldn't be more pleased with the results. He was very knowledgeable about his business. We got a second estimate before we started and Adam beat the other estimate by a long shot.
It helps to be a cheerful person as Adam is cheerful and conscientious and pleasant to talk to, though he doesn't spend a lot of time doing that. He always has time to stop and answer questions. We just couldn't have had a more different experience than the other reviewer. If you are considering him, I suggest that you give him a chance. We sure are happy that we did. This review was unsolicited by him and our relationship with him is related only to the job he did for us.

He did not come prepared with supplies to complete the project as scheduled.We informed him months in advance that he would be at the end of our project (painted walls,baseboard and new doors would be in place). We gave him one weeks notice for him to start. The first stage is cleaning the floors. We had to point out areas the he left untouched. There was dirt,paint,rocks, and mud left in scored areas of concrete. Other areas he cleaned half of the area. He removed paint from some baseboards and dented some baseboards and wall corners. One area under our built in shelves, he said his machine could not get to it because the floor was uneven. My husband had to use our sander and sanded the paint away. The second stage is the staining. He told us there would be some back splash and touch up paint would cover it. He stained the floor with thin stain and stained our baseboards,walls, and the bottom of our doors. Our basement looks like a train wreck. We were so upset with him, he painted the baseboards and bottom doors. The walls still have stain on them. The stain was thinned for his next job. Parts of the basement floor looks like shiny concrete with no stain and other parts have stain on it. The high gloss shine has some of his foot prints in it. Our basement floor does not look like any of the pictures or the places he said he did. He has an excuse for every problem he did, and should have taken care of. Do not use this company or the owner for any project at your home.

"Precision & Decorative Concretes' response to the complaint about the basement. We failed to understand that the project would have finished trim, paint and shelves installed before we were called in to do our work. As these were verbal communications we cannot prove what was said either way and would rather proceed with information that was in print. Since we failed to understand that the shelves would be installed we naturally did not have the equipment to work under the toe kick of the installed cabinets. According to the signed proposal we stated that the color was to be chosen from a sample "provided on customer's concrete and upon owners approval work will be done.." On 12/6/10 we provided the sample and on 12/7/10 when we had the customer's color choice the product was ordered only to find out that the supplier did not have the desired color in stock which took three days from order date to the date the product was received. The next business day work resumed. In response to the damaged baseboards and doors. In response to the "floor does not look like what Adam stated he could do" we would like to direct attention to the signed proposal which say that "color of acid stain cannot be guaranteed, a sample patch will be provided on customers concrete and upon owners approval work will be done and payment will be due even if color varies from expectations". In response to the dents in the baseboard, we were told that there was going to be shoe molding installed because the floor was so out of level (which Precision & Decorative Concretes did not have anything to do with the installation of the existing concrete floor on this site) that the baseboards had space under them some placed and not in others. So in order to get our tooling into the corners as far as possible we did dent the bottom edge of the baseboards would be covered by the said 3/4 inch shoe molding. Although not listed in the proposal the additional cleaning of the control joints was done at no charge. As for the concentration of the stain it was not thinned and was applied in the rate as specified by the manufacture. We feel that no refund is necessary according to the signed proposal.
