Best responsiveness for scheduling and communication I've worked with in any home contracting so far!
Informative - Even if you are a DIY type they will do what you ask and give you tips going forward. I was very appreciative of that because I only wanted an aeration so I can try the seeding and fertilizing myself.
Took multiple passes over the yard and did not skimp like I hear others doing.
The spring ice storm hit and the came right away and took out a tree that was blocking our driveway. But also a tree had fallen across our neighbor's fence, and we asked them to take that out. They took out half of it, one of their chain saws broke, and then they left and never called. WE had to call THEM to come back and finish the tree and get paid. Then they had promised to do monthly maintenance starting in the spring and to check our tons of buried soaker hoses, which always need yearly maintenance, and it just didn't happen and they never showed.
So they were a good company when they came to do the work. but not reliable hence the mediocre review.
1-- Mowing: This part of their service went well for the first couple of times they came. After that, it appeared that who ever was responsible for my lawn was in a rush. Pine needles were still in the yard and on the drive and walkway. In Scott's defense, I must say that when I first called him, he told me that he was extremely busy. Had he been too busy to properly tend to my yard, I would have thought he would have said so.
2-- Cleaning Gutters: Scott told me that they cleaned gutters as a part of their service. When I arrived home after they had been there to "clean" the gutters, I could not believe what they had done-- or better said, not done. There were leaves and debris all over the walk and at the sides of my house. As for the roof, it was still laden with pine needles. The charges for that service were taken off my bill. When I spoke with Scott, he advised that his crew leader had to leave early that day and did not check behind his workers. He did apologize offer to have someone come over and clean the leaves and debris from my yard if I wanted him to. Had he said that he was sending someone over to do that, I would have thanked him. But the way it was put, I declined and cleaned it up myself.
"I feel really bad about what happened. I talked to the crew the next day about the job. My crew was also at the house across the street cleaning up leaves. A few crew members came over to clean the gutters, but only got part of the work done before realizing they needed blowers to continue the cleanup. The blowers were all being used across the street so they went back over to help. They forgot to return to the gutter job to finish up. The crew leader had to leave before the jobs were done and didn't get a chance to look over the properties. That was my fault for sending him on another errand. Again, I felt really bad and was quite embarrassed to get that call from Diane about her gutters. She is right I should have sent someone right over to finish the job, but I decided to ask her instead. She declined so the least I could do was not charge her anything. Of course looking, back I would have handled the situation differently. Thanks for the feedback."
Scott also gave advice on a soggy patch of ground near my AC unit and how to fix that, though we haven't decided to have that work done yet.
