The work done was very good but when there was a minor material quality problem, which the installer identified (to his credit) the owner sent him to another job with the intention of making me wait weeks for them to come back. Four days in a row no one showed up after telling me 9am. When I said I had already waited weeks for them to come he tried to quit the job, saying I was the worst client he had ever had. Threatening a bad review was the only way I got him back in the middle of a half done job that took 7 weeks from start to finish. In my opinion the owner is the problem with this company, the installers are very skilled and very professional. He never checked the work when it was done and left part of the job undone (but I was glad to be rid with him).

Review of Heated Tile Floor Installation by Paragon Tile
The project was to remove old carpet and carpet pad that had been in place for too many years on the concrete floor of a family room and adjacent bedroom in a split level house and to replace them with a heated tile floor. The installation was performed by Paragon Tile, with tiles and electric tape mats purchased at reasonable cost from Mosaic Tile in Raleigh, NC.
Joey Adams, owner of Paragon Tile, was in direct and frequent communication with Mosaic Tile, which simplified our involvement. Electrical connections to the thermostats and circuit breaker box were performed well by Miller and Miller Electric of Raleigh, NC.
Joey was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He had worked previously as a tile installer. He advised us about options
and supervised the various parts of the project. His first set of employees removed and discarded the carpet and pad, sealed cracks in the concrete and ?leveled the floor? by spreading a commercial sealer compound. Joey quickly recognized that the initial shipment of tape mats obtained from SunTouch had been designed incorrectly for these premises by the company with respect to the graphical representation provided them. This delayed the installation, but at no additional cost, until the correct materials were received soon after.
Joey laid out the replacement mats in the proper configuration with respect to the size and shape of the rooms. His second crew then came and installed the tiles. They worked carefully and efficiently as a team and did an excellent job. The cost breakdown was approximately $6400 tile, grout and heat mats; $5900 installation; $1600 electrical.
The floor looks and feels great. We are very happy to be able to walk barefoot or in socks on what otherwise would
be a cold floor in winter. Moreover, heat rising from the floor contributes to warming the whole room. Our only regret is that we had not had a heated floor installed in the adjacent bathroom when that tile work was done years previously.

Joey Adams arrived on time, measured the basement area and told us the square
footage (484 square feet in the family room and guest room) for the
porcelain tile to order. His company had been recommended by Mosaic
Tile.
He arrived a week later with his crew. They removed and
carted away the old carpeting, cleaned up and evened up the floor, Joey put
down wire mesh for the under floor heating system, coated the wiring,
installed the tile, grouted, cleaned up, and connected the under floor
heating system to the connections created by the electrician.
Joey and the team worked hard, focused on the job and were very serious about doing a quality job.
