The reception staff is very professional and the vet techs are the best! If the techs happen into the waiting room they immediately come and greet the dogs and me. I have used both vets and like them both a great deal. They take all the time needed to listen to my concerns and explain in detail any care needed. The facility is clean, attractive, and well designed.

Everyone on staff was helpful and pleasant. The waiting area was large and clean. Once the initial paperwork was taken care of we were taken to a clean, spacious exam room. The technician and vet (Dr. Windram) were very good with my dog, asking permission before providing treats. As a new dog owner I had a lot of questions and they answered all of them, with no signs of impatience or trying to rush me. They provided a variety of printed materials on topics I asked about plus recommendations for trainers and emergency care. They did a complementary nail trim to demonstrate how to do it. The checkout process was a little slow but the front desk staff apologized and thanked me for being patient; I did not have the sense that a slow checkout was the norm. My dog clearly enjoyed all the good attention and I think she will look forward to future visits.

I've been taking my pets to New Hope for 7 or 8 years. My dogs see Dr. Windram (Soren) and he is wonderful.
His prices are reasonable, it's fairly easy to get an appointment within a couple days, and he will work you in if there's a more urgent need. On occasion, when he had no openings, he has let me drop my dog off to be seen at whatever point during the day he can find a few spare minutes. He always spends as much time as needed with me and my dogs during an exam. I never feel rushed or feel like he's trying to get to the next person. He always remembers me, my dogs, and quite often he remembers a random discussion we had during our last visit -- he definitely listens and pays attention.
Sadly, I had to put down one of my dogs last February. I think Soren was just as upset as I was at the loss of Max. After Max was gone, I got up ready to leave, but Soren just sat there petting Max for another 2-3 minutes and telling him what a good dog he had been. I know he's incredibly busy but the fact the he took the extra time when he didn't have to meant a lot to me.
A year ago, my dog Lucy went into anaphylactic shock after her vaccinations. We were getting ready to leave the clinic when she starting throwing up. He asked me to leave her, just as a precautionary measure. I'm so glad he did because he called me half an hour later to tell me that she had gone into shock and he was working hard to save her life. He spent hours getting her stable and stayed many hours beyond his 12 pm Saturday closing time to take care of her. He told me to come back at 1 pm to pick her up and when I did she started showing "shocky" symptoms again, so he took her back and worked on her for another hour until he could get her stable enough to be transported to the emergency hospital for overnight care. He worked for many years at the emergency hospital in Durham before he opened his own clinic, so he's very skilled at dealing with emergencies, as I discovered first-hand.
The vet techs are great as well. Since my dogs tend to have chronic problems, I'm there quite often. They are all extremely pleasant and great with my dogs. And Heather, who works the front desk, is one of the friendliest people I've ever met. I always enjoy the chats we have while we're waiting to be seen.
My dogs have also seen Dr. Bishop a couple times and I have nothing but good things to say about her as well. She's very friendly, attentive, and competent.

I have brought my cats to see the vet at this animal hospital a number
of times, and she is extremely professional, knowledgeable, respectful,
and takes the time to answer questions. In addition, she or a vet
technician call the next day to follow-up and make sure everything is
going well with my cats. I have also boarded my cats at this hospital,
and they provide excellent services and care to my cats, and it's a
relief to know that they are in good hands when I'm out of town. It's a
great hospital, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants great care
for their pets.

I am relatively new to that veterinary service. I would definitely recommend them. I had a bad experience with another vet and switched to them. This was my second visit and so far they seem to be pretty good. They messed up my telephone number and didn't get back to me. Their prices are pretty reasonable. All veterinary services are expensive but they were less than others I've gone to. They were very professional and it was very good service.

Our vet there is great and he realizes that both my wife and I are physicians and speak to us on a professional level but also realizes that we may know human medicine we know nothing about animal medicines.

I like them and I really like the vet there. He is a good doctor. They were reasonable compared to some. The doctor used to be the head of the emergency clinic. He had staff problems but he had one excellent nurse and he's an excellent doctor. It was a nice place if I went out of town. He is a little farther from my home.

They've our our vet for our dog with behavioral issues including fear aggression. The staff is fantastic from the reception to vet techs to our vet. They've managed to make our dog feel right at home. They've been able to handle anything we've brought to them. They've followed up on the telephone (usually with the call being made by the vet we've been seeing, Dr. Moss). They've also been great about not making us schedule an appointment every time the dog has a problem, but using a phone consult whenever possible thereby saving us money and time.

The whole visit went very well. I was especially impressed by the receptionist. Shortly after we arrived and settled into the waiting room, she took us into an exam room, explaining that the dog about to enter the room looked stressed and she didn't want him to take his stress out on my dog. Dr. Bishop was also very nice, getting to know the dog before examining him. She was so slick with his shots that I didn't even know she had done them! Having recently moved to Durham, it was a great relief to find New Hope to be a clean, comfortable and caring place. Two weeks later I boarded him for two nights and he bounded happily into the waiting room! He had the same reaction when I later boarded him for 6 nights. I was delighted that they let dogs romp together, after being sure they are well-socialized.

Dr. Soren has been our vet for close to 6 months now. He has been extremely helpful with raising our first puppy and has always provided his services at a great price compared to other vets in the area. In addition to the quality veterinary help, they also run a wonderful boarding kennel there. It's relatively inexpensive and extremely flexible. I have found that it books up early though, so we have to call weeks in advance. This last trip there we weren't sure of return date but they worked it out so we could pick up our dog on Sunday... which was awesome. Only bad part about NHAH is that it's a little off the beaten path. A small price to pay for good service. Totally recommend.
